Does the 300 have slots for memory cards? I heard it didn't so I just went and bought the 900 because it had the slots for the memory card and also it has interchangeable battery.

The batteries will under normal conditions outlast the life of the device. It is certainly possible to change them, but 4-5 years from now I doubt you could even find a battery for a 300 or a 900. People usually upgrade a device such as this every 2 - 3 years, so for the vast majority of people the battery is a non-issue. Remember that these products are only sold for a year or so, then the new models come out.
No card slot. The 300 holds a good 400+ books, I have never understood why anyone would need more than that to read at one time. Of course you keep your full library on your computer (and have back ups) but on the device, other than slowing it down, there is no real point to having hundreds of books. If you are going to be somewhere for several years without computer access then I can see the point, but otherwise...... |

Thanks everyone 1 more question though. What do you think about the font of prs-300 ? Not too small ? I understand there are 3 sizes? If you chose number 2 is it something like times new roman size 11 ?

For me the medium font works on most books. PDF's can be an issues, some have font's that do not respond to the "zoom" function. If you have books that are DRM free you can convert them in Calibre. One of the great things about converting is that you can control the base font size. So you can output a base 14 font, and all 3 sizes on the 300 will in turn be larger than normal.
I don't know what part of the world you are in (your location is empty) but as I said before the best thing to do is buy one from a local store. Try it to see if eInk and the device are a fit for you. If not, simply return it. Spending some time with one is really the only way to know if it is right for you. As with most things there is no "best"... there is only what is best for you, and that can be very different than what is best for me, or someone else.... |

I've been using the 300 for a while now and just picked up a 600 today. I like it a lot and have no trouble at all seeing the text. I picked up the light cover for it at the same time, it makes a great difference in low light conditions.

Just to re-iterate what Ben said - the 505 still seems to be available here and there, may be worth looking for one of those.
In the UK Argos seem to have a few remaining, I'm thinking of picking one up myself, although I have no particular reason to... |

Any particular reason you're only considering the Sony? There are many other devices out there.

I thought nothing could be compared with the quality of prs-300 or prs-505 plus it reads pdf files.

I would have given other brands consideration if I could have found them in stores. Most readers are either online only or only and import options which I didn't like. I liked the design of the Iriver (but don't know if it's good)
