Which would be the best way - to shut it down when not in use or keep it in a SLEEP mode until next use?

If you are going to use it daily, I would recommend sleep mode. It does not drain the battery much and it is ready to read in a flash. If I am not going to read for a day or two, I shut it down.

I must be mis-understanding you.
I thought you wanted to READ a book ON THE READER, while charging.
Nornal "Connected to computer" results in you computer gaining 1 (or 2 if SD card in place) "drives".
You can use these, just like any other drive: Read or Write.
Of coarse, your PEz only can work with the files listed on your users guide (updated). So you can technically store an AVI (movie), but the PEz will ignore it

Do nothing.
Sleep is the normal mode when pages are not getting turned.
Sleep = LED out
Lock the Keyboard (short push) to avoid random (unwanted) page turns.

There was another thread on contrast Friday

Thank you!
Dear Irenas:

There is another thread I responded to Friday on screen contrast. Basically, while you cannot adjust the contrast per se... you CAN change fonts. Your PP comes with a fair selection. Look under settings by pressing the large "OK" button. You will find fonts listed in settings.

You can also download additional fonts. That info is on the FAQ sheet at: www.theEZreader.com under "support". That has fairly easy instructions on adding new fonts.

Changing to different fonts will change the relative contrast and give you a great read!

My NEW EZ reader was playing restarting game today. I guess it did not like a book i was reading (about russian tyran Stalin ) Or it did not like the .rtf. Anyway, it was doing that restart every other page... so i switched to another book, fb2, - no problem.
Is it normal for the reader to restart by itself now and then?

yes. It usually has to do with a bad ebook in a particular format. I have that problem occassionally. So, Try to convert the book to another format and read it in that one. i.e.. if the epub does not work convert the book to fb2....

Dear irenas:

About three weeks ago there were numerous posts on one of the threads regarding favorite font type. Let me see if I can dig that up. They seemed to all like one font in particular.

Dear Irenas:

These threads all get "off topic" after a while. I just spent 30 minutes looking for the right thread and could not find it. I remember it had to do with contrast of the screen and someone started it by saying: "pick a different font style" and then everybody mentioned their favorite. There was a concensus reached. I just cannot find that thread.

I think theDucks had the best font choice.

DUCKEE please chime in!!
