Thank you for welcoming me Robert. I do LOVE my reader and actually look forward to using it daily.

I look forward to your announcement as I am always looking for places to buy books

Here's hoping someone can help me with my Calibre problem

I cannot help you with Calibre as that is separate from Astak. Others on here know it far better than me! And... I know they will help! The people at this Astak Dedicated Forum are incredibly helpful and a very "giving" group.

There will be a formal announcement next week on a new place to buy the latest bestsellers and other "for purchase" eBooks and 1-1.5 million free Google eBooks too. This will be an Astak website. Stay tuned!

1st question Does your computer recognize your PEz?
Open Windows Explorer, you should see 1 (or 2, if the SD card is in place) removable drives. Linux should auto-mount the drives (shows as a USB stick Icon)
Explore the drives, you should see the Users Guide, another PDF with Maybe some square boxes (a Chinese font required). OK to delete this one. Been known to cause problems with older version of Calibre when getting a list of books from your device).
Until you get your computer to recognize the PEz (drives), don't worry about Calibre.

Calibre settings
If you did not answer the original Installation message device type with "Endless Ideas BeBook Mini", run the startup wizard again (The arrow next to Preferences)

After that
Preferences: Conversion: Page setup: Output profile: "Hanlin V5"

I like the Right Margin at 16px so EPUB page numbers are mostly in the clear
and I set the base fonr size under look and feel: to 16pt to make it appear tiny.

This sounds like the Intel Enhanced USB2 problem.

See if you have these settings on your computer.

I do have a question, I am leaving my CD Card in the reader..n should I be taking it out and placing it in my computer instead? Or does that defeat the purpose.

It should not matter. It seems to me that you have a problem. I would call customer support, or send them email

Would my issue be with Astak or Calibre?

irenas has it right
Call Astak support

It should work with or without the SD card.
You can load the card direct if you have a card reader (also faster), but that step is not required and you lose the use of the main storage on the PEz

When you connect the reader to the computer do you see "to connect press OK" come up on your readers screen? If you see this then press OK on the reader. If not try all other usb ports. If you can't connect call Astak. If you can connect then you should see two new folders under "my computer". If you see these two new drive letters then it is just a matter of how Calibre is set up and not an Astak problem.

If you can connect the reader then in Calibre you should be using "Astak and EzReader" for your manufacturer and device information, as you have the 6" reader not the PEZ. (Location of books in Calibre set up should be one of your main pc drives.) Still any problems with Calibre after this, if you get this far, then let us know.

Dear All:

When the "to connect" screen pops up, many people do not read the message carefully and just push a numbered key. To connect you need to press the large "ok" button. This likely will not be this case... I just wanted to spotlight that.

You can call 1-866-368-8788 M-F, 9:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.PST. We are gere to help get you happy!
