Have you tried decoupage before? I have some Discworld calendar pages from previous years that I'd love to put on a hard back cover for my JBL.
No, I've never tried decoupage before, but I LOVE Discworld! Please post pix if you ever do that! I can't find any 5x7 photo albums at my dollar store, they only have the 4x6. They did have some hard back books that would probably work that were a dollar a piece. Just cut the pages out and go from there. Mine is just a dollars worth of fabric and a piece of cardboard I had laying around the house. I didn't want to invest too much in my first attempt. Any one who does any crafting knows how easily that first attempt can quickly turn to garbage!!
There is definitely some talent on this board. Maybe we could get a sticky for all homemade covers/cozies/bags for the JBL?

Will do! I'll have to look into the technique this weekend and see if I can locate the right size album cover.

Truer words have never been typed. I have a LOT of cringe-worthy first attempts in every DIY/craft/art I've tried.

I'd like to see this, too. Since the JBL isn't getting the attention that the Nook, Kindle, and Sony readers are, I think that covers for it will be handmade for some time to come.

I made a sox top sleeve the other day and finally got around to taking a picture of it:

There is a JBL inside.

I just cut the sox and used some old vinyl glue/patch on the edges then
sewed it up by hand. You can tell a bachelor did it, but it fits nice and
should protect and keep the JBL clean in my pocket.

Luck;
Ken

P.S. I hope the attachment shows up.

I like it! Good job. It could be real cute done in a sock that they make Sock Monkeys out of! Or, I think I saw some purple with green polka dot socks at the store the other day. Wonder if female socks would be big enough? Hmmmm. Endless possibilities.

S

A lot of the time the sock top is elastic or stretches some to help
keep them from "falling" down. It makes for a nice snug fit around
the JBL, battery bump and all.

Luck;
Ken

I made a different crocheted case for my JBL. This one is a felted wool cabled version with a flap.

Thanks everyone! I think I will try to make one of those hard covers next. My Jetbook cozy collection is getting out of hand.
