Could we host it here?
There's a blurb in the ebook saying "Please feel free to pass it on to anyone else you think would be interested."

Firewalls?

Inability to figure out how to configure your web server?

It is kind of a pain, since you have to open the zip and pull out the EPUB, rather than letting it just load into the reader.

Downloaded 'x marks the box' yesterday, and just finished it.
Not a book I would have thought about buying, but really enjoyed it. In hindsight if I would have paid a few quid for it, then I would not have felt ripped off.

I concur with the previous comments about the absurdity of zipping it. I too had problems with the unzip, and very nearly gave up. Once someone has decided to give something away completely free, then make the process as painless as possible.
The zipped file size was 406k, and unzipped 436. Pointless.
However it was a small book (150 ish pages), and I guess the zipping procedure is automatically applied to all books from Waterstones.

What windows version DO you have? (And I'll find you an appropriate link)
I have Windows XP, so it should be ok to unzip. I really don't see why it should have been zipped in the first place, it's not exactly 'War and Peace'!

So is that working then? WinZIP would of taken over the ZIP file management and there's no guarantee that it restored Window's proper defaults when it was uninstalled.

Has anyone had problems unzipping this? I downloaded it (to a macbook), then renamed the zip to an epub. Nothing. I tried unzipping it, renaming the folder as .epub, and zipping that. Nothing. I tried loading the raw file - nothing. I can see all the contents no problem. How do you get the damn thing to open as a book and not a bunch of html pages?

I've just uninstalled WinZip and tried to download the book again but no joy so far. Will try again when I have more time to mess around!

Why are you renaming files? Why don't you just unzip it with Stuffit or another extraction program?

unzip...

Just in case it helps anyone, Windows users can use the open source free 7zip which is available to download at:

http://www.7-zip.org/

Penguins have various options like the usefully named, unzip!

Mac and Windows users can also use http://www.zipeg.com/ a freeware version.

Hope that helps someone!
