Hey no probs StevenK,
I appreciate your honesty and I know exactly what you mean. That's where you guys come in. I'd love you guys to put your heads together, maybe even start a new thread on how to make ZR fit the JE's like a glove. My problem is time, I am the sole developer for: ZuluReader for WinMo/CE ZuluReader for PC A (yet to be named but almost finished) "Point and click ePUB aAssembler" that lets you change/add a cover image, add extra content files to the manifest, Build/edit multi-level TOCs. And yes it will run on CE!!!!!! Woohoo, edit your ePUBs mobile style. And the entire website. So, the more input you guys can come up with the sooner those requests can be implemented. I have ordered a JE100 and JE200 and can't wait to get started ![]() Page rendering done off screen is inheritantly much faster because there is no screen I/O. You will be pleased with the performance enhancements, trust me ![]() Speed wasn't really an issue in WinMo PPC's and Smartphones so I never bothered with it. |

Just tried it out on the A81. Page turning seemed totally fine, but the window size and button locations were totally messed up. Rotating to portrait and launching resulted in a crash.
If/when you've got a new build that addresses any of those problems I'd love to give it a whirl. edit: In the future, what would be even more awesome would in app rotation. Last edited by Houndx; 02-15-2010 at 08:13 PM. |

Hi Houndx, I checked out the A81, looks cool. I'm not surprised the buttons are all over the place though, I've never had a CE device for testing but I expect to receive my JE 100 and 200 readers in a few days so I'll have a pretty major update for you guys to try in a couple of weeks. The A81 looks to have the same screen res as the Jointech units so what I do for them should work for you as well. I am really looking forward to getting my teeth into CE.

Got a CE based MID? Check this out.
Hi all, I've been approached by Jointech to create a version of ZuluReader custom built for their JE100, JE200 and the rumored
![]() The good news is that all MID users will benefit as all versions of ZuluReader will soon be compatible with all the new screen sizes that MIDs have brought about. Our library/publishing site (www.zuluexpress.com) will also fit the JE devices and all other MIDs like a glove as well, so hats off to all you early adopters of cool new toys out there. Here comes a paypay for your dedication to the art of gadgetry ![]() As part of our partnership, Jointech's JE range of MDI/eReaders will soon be available from our site very soon at greatly reduced prices so stay tuned. ![]() |

Though I've given up on epubs (I really don't like how they look in my Mini and that was the reason I started with epub in the first place), I still find the more software to read the better

Hi SweatPea,
Don't give up on ePUBs girlfriend, it is a battlefield at the moment to be sure and there are always casualties but there is no doubt in my mind about the eventual outcome. In the meantime though as you say.... the more Software and devices out there the better. Choice is good, DRM is bad. People who read eBooks are not a resource of the eBook industry, they ARE the eBook industry. Publishers must bend to OUR will or perish. |

Woohoo!!! I finally received my JE 100 and 200 readers.
They are sexy little beasties aren't they, but then again this is my first WinCE device as well (as opposed to Win Mobile) so there's that novelty as well. I have already started to adapt ZuluExpress to fit the 480x800 screen size in both portrait and ladscape modes. Check out the home page and the library page and you'll see what I mean, more importantly, you get to see the full width of pages and don't have to scroll left and right as you do on other sites. I am busily working on the other pages of the site and when I have finished I will be working on making ZuluReader fit the 480x800 screen format as well. I have to say, after seeing ZR on the JE readers it's amazing to me that you guys are hanging in there with me, and it's greatly appreciated, you must see some potential there, and for that you will be rewarded very handsomely ![]() Jointech want me to create a cut down version withour library fuctions etc, basically just a command line ePub viewer that they can include with their readers ex-factory. I will be doing that first and then getting stuck into the full version which is downloadable from our site. Keep an eye on this thread, more updates soon. |

Hey Imareader,
I have been doing a bit of work on ZR today and it's coming along nicely. The buttons certainly look better with a bit more size about them. I'ts mainly a lot of tedious work going through all the screens and adding/modifying code so that things resize themselves as they should. As soon as I have most of the layout issues sorted I'll put a preliminary update on the site, should only be a couple of days. After that I'll start working on performance issues, I have identified quite a few areas that can be made to run faster, or at least give that appearance ![]() Cheers, Steve. |
