Download got to 19% and then stayed there forever; redoing the connection now just yields "Connecting to server" endlessly. Oh, and now it's timed out with "cannot make a connection".
Bloody hell, can't they sort their bloody server out? Getting anything off them seems to always be a complete nightmare. Goat help us if something isn't sorted before they start offering actual content. Flaky downloads are a relic from the modem age, surely. |

![]() I've got an informal performance test I'm calling the "Jack Rabbit Speed Test". The document can be found here: http://www.ejackrabbit.com/p/JackrabbitBoxLunchMenu.pdf The document took forever to open under 2.5, takes even longer to open now under 2.6 (really shows off the Startrek scanner thingy), but you can flip forwards and backwards inside it quickly now. I suspect XPDF is not heavily optimized for decoding images out of PDF's... |

You guys are killing me. My iLiad was boxed up yesterday and sent back for a new battery. I guess I'll just have to live vicariously thru all of you for the next week or so and focus on converting content for the iLiad. After playing around with the iLiad for a few days I must say reading on my vga ipaq is just not as pleasurable. I'm hoping for a quick repair and return.

You have to something like the following in each html file to get the back/next bar working:
Code:
<html> <head> <title>Page 2</title> <meta type="layout" /> <link rel="prev" href="page0001.html" /> <link rel="next" href="page0003.html" /> </head> <body> </body> </html> |

Installed 2.6 all worked well.. Opened a PDF, pages a lot quicker..
Then it went wrong. It's currently crashed an won't turn off. Even if I use the reset on the back of the device ![]() |

yes i'm having the same problem. Sometimes I think they don't do any beta-testing...and the feedback they getfrom us is ignored most of the time. The Sound-bug still seems to be in...I'm so used to the "plock" by now I don't hear it anymore, but I want to get rid of it anyway..
Software 2.6 works a lot better for PDF (but no better or even worse for HTML) but it crashes on exit, is still a bit touch-and-go with my SD-Card... I'll have to email iRex...the only way to shut the device down right now seems to be reset...can't be good news. |

No crashes here but I've just left the unit on since it grabbed the 2.6 release documents. Looks like 10 hours is pretty close to what it is delivering.
By the way, did anyone else notice the developer job opening posted on iRex's site? Either they just lost a developer or they are looking to staff up one more developer. |
