Yep, I always do my shopping first thing to avoid the crowds and lines as much as anything. Saves time too!

That's probably why I like online shopping too. And I do the grocery shopping at 9pm or later. It's not very crowded then, either!

I avoid crowds as much as possible. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. Like desertgrandma, I like my space (need lots of elbow room unless you get an invitation otherwise, or you happen to be a cute little doggie or other sweet critter).

As much as I like spectator sports and such, I'd never consider going to a game or concert in person, even with free tickets. I want to avoid the accompanying noise as well. Too much ear-splitting noise makes me want to hurt someone (usually the ones making said noise) and I'm a very peaceful person, really.

I've only been to a movie theater 3 times in my life, and even that's too crowded for me. Don't like the way people behave there either.

Don't get me wrong. I like people well enough. I just enjoy them more in small doses.

What I most dislike about movie theaters is the sound is almost always too LOUD! I have to stuff cotton or tissue in my ears to make it even bearable.

Kenny, I agree they are quite often too loud. The other strange thing with movies these days, and I notice this even at home with dvds, is that quite often the music will become violently loud at times compared to the preceding vocal dialogue (which is often at a more moderate level).

Thanks for your reply DGMa. The porcupine trick sounds like it would be quite a good counter manoeuver!

I already get the urge to hit around even watching that train video... I wouldn't even try to get in.

We do our grocery shopping in the evening, after work, it's generally quiet then. If we have to go to town, we generally go on Saturday, and be sure we're in town at 9:30 and be gone at around 10:30... So, by the time it starts to fill up, we'll be on our way home.

Hmm, the movie theaters aren't that crowded here... At least, not at the times we usually go (tuesdays, the show between 18:00 and 19:00). And how do people behave there?

I have been at conventions, but I try to stay away from the larger human masses. And I'll not stand in line to see something either.

The only time I will stand in a crowded line is when I'm skiing. But then I have plenty of room in front of me

I can feel myself retracting into my shell, like a crab, when I have to take the subway anywhere. It's an odd feeling that I don't tend to get when I'm in other crowded situations. I'm an introvert, so in general I stick to the corners of rooms and the lower boundaries of social interaction, but that feeling of shutdown is something I only get on the subway. I kinda like it, actually.

Oh yeah, and I do my grocery shopping early in the morning or after work too. Lots of people blocking aisles with their carts, oblivious to whatever else is around them... yeah, I like to keep that to a minimum.
