So far, it looks like 30% of those who own 1 or 2 readers want another.
I want another because I'm using my iPhone and the screen is too small for technical books. How about you guys? |

I have:
One PRS 505. One JetBook. I read a LOT on my Android phone because it's the most portable device I have. One Nokia N800 that I sometimes read on. My wife has a Kindle. I have a netbook, and PC but rarely read on either of them. I want a tablet PC (not an overgrown iPod) that can take hand written notes, be relatively portable (no larger than a day planner) and can double as a reader. i have 3 : my first was an ebookwise, because it was an inexpensive way to test the waters. then i got a sony 700 because i liked reading on the eb1150 but it was too heavy, and i wanted a non-backlit / e-ink screen, and epub support. then i got the sony 600 because it is basically everything i originally wanted from the 700.
i checked "i want more" because i would love to get a smaller and lighter device (5") to carry around in my bag with me. also i'd like a colour device when they come out. and it would be nice to have a device with a plastic substrate screen instead of glass, so i wouldn't worry so much about breaking it. also i really want a french dictionary / more flexible dictionary support, which will probably mean a different device rather than an update to one of my current ones. actually maybe i just like gadgets and want lots. ![]() |

I have a Sony 600, which is my first reader. I'm glad I decided on this one.

I solely had used LCD readers (dedicated and/or PDA) until mid 2009 when I acquired an eink iLiad v2 (FINALLY!).
![]() I can read just fine on my 5+ years old LCD dedicated readers like the B&W REB1100, 16-grayscale EBW1150 and MY favourite 32768-colour REB1200! The LCD PDA-type readers (Sony Clie's and iPod Touch) have screens that are just too small for me to enjoy the reading experience and I could never get used to (manually) switching pages so frequently... ![]() ( Perhaps if I could have used telepathy to change the page it would have made the difference! ![]() My 16-grayscale 8" iLiad v2 is not really geared towards reading letter-sized .pdf ebooks, but that's what I use it for. It makes a good compromise between device size and screen clarity. As a novel reading device, it works just GREAT, but has no backlight! ![]() I'm still undecided what my next (colour!) reading device will be, but I think I have enough ebooks and capable ebook readers to wait it out a bit longer... I'm no stranger to using yesterday's technology as long as it WORKS! ![]() |

Hello, my name is VR and I'm a MobileReader. I have ONE reader. Count them: ONE! A Sony 505 which I like a lot. Well, I kinda like it a lot. Except for the business with their crappy rendering of epubs. And its lack of dictionary support. And its lack of note-taking by any means whatsoever. And its rather small screen which makes it pretty lousy for reading letter-sized PDFs. And its utter inability to let me buy and read the eleventy buzillion books that are for sale at Amazon but not at all at Sony. Yep, I like my 505 a lot. Well, except for those things. Actually, it's not all that great. In fact, after a couple of years, I'm pretty well tired of lugging the piece of crap around and I'm looking for something decent. But then there's this little voice in my head that says "VR, you can't buy a second reader because you have hundreds of books you haven't read that you can read on the one you have which works pefectly fine. Don't you know there are puppies all around the world who are starving? YOU CAN'T HAVE A SECOND READER!"
Okay, I have issues. |

I'm spoiled, I have a 505 (I have offered to my husband, but he reads on his Touch); a 700 (my main reader); a Nook and my Touch (the Touch is for inconspicuous reading).
Oh, well...... |
