Congrats on your purchase fellow Aussie. I think you'll enjoy it. Funny, I started reading last week a paperback....after having my PP I don't find the old paperback as comfortable and enjoyable to read anywhere near as much as my PP.

Another question: what SD cards are supported by the device? Are there any further specs I need to know about for that?

Thanks.

Those are the official numbers. In practice larger cards work on both devices. The standard for SDHC goes to 32G.

Dear Mr. Nobody:

The FAQ sheet at:www.theEZreader.com under "support" discusses all of this and is a big help. The Pocket PRO will work fine with up to a 16GB SD card (officially) although many members report 32GB can work. The problem with 32GB is that it might slow the device down a bit!

I've received the Pocket Pro in record time and it seems great but for one thing: I'm having real trouble reading the text.

Is there any way to change the contrast? I wondered if it was my eyes at first so I compared to a printed book in the same lighting. The book was much sharper.

Could this be due to battery life? I had it plugged in for eight hours and the light was green when I started using it.

I cannot respond concerning the ADE EPUB/PDF reader on the PocketPro because I can't stand to use it, so my response refers to the CoolReader application.

The darkness of the text depends to a great extent on what font you are using to read. IIRC with the stock fonts, Ariel is probably the darkest text. If you stay away from EPUB and PDF, then you can venture into installing your own fonts if you wish. FWIW, I am currently using IBOOKN for reading with the CoolReader application, and it is much darker than the standard installed fonts.

First: The Green LED is an "activity" LED (which flickers Red-Yellow-Green) while charging
There is a Battery icon on the status bar at the bottom (not visible when reading some formats. Press Menu, to see., Exit to resume reading)

When the PEz thinks it is fully charged, the icon changes to something that looks like a power cord plug.

Look at the Manual (users Guide) that was supplied installed in the Main storage to see if it appears different from the book in question.

I too, set my system font to IBOOKN (see settings)

FAQ sheet tells how to download additional fonts.

The battery charge will not change the contrast of the screen. Most people find it excellent as it is; but font types will give you a better contrast.

The FAQ sheet at: wwww.theEZreader.com (under "support") does list how to install other font type choices. There is a choice of fonts already on the Pocket PRO. To look at Font Types, turn the device "on", press the large "OK" button, press #6, press #3 to bring up a Font selection!

I think this will give you the result you wish!
