Expect about $ 30 for shipment. Customs and tax per your usual rate (for me in Germany it adds up to about 25% of total costs, including shipment). |

Mgmueller: Vielen Dank. Will try again and see if it works.
No1451: Cannot help much becasue mine was brought in by a friend. Had to pay the VAT. Shipping cost varies a lot depending on shipping method and Company Any one else managed to register from abroad? |

Alright, thanks a bunch. I'm looking at the prices for borderlinx and it hurts just a bit, such is the price of picking up a neat piece of kit though I guess.

I'd second what geertm said -- download the 1.2 update file to your computer from B&N web-site, put it on nook and wait while your nook updates to 1.2 and register then.
No1451 if you live within a driving distance to the border, there're usually package receiving companies on the US side which charge a few bucks to receive a shipment for you. Then it's just GST+PST at the border to bring the nook in. |

In the earlier firmware versions (before 1.2) you had to manually adjust the unit's clock to register. In 1.2, this can be done via WiFi. Last edited by mgmueller; 03-03-2010 at 01:35 PM. |

But I can assure you: nook for $ 259 is a catch. And even for the € 260 it was to me (from US to Germany through 3rd party), it's still at the lowest end (cost-wise, not quality-wise) and has a fantastic cost/value ratio. Last edited by mgmueller; 03-03-2010 at 01:36 PM. |
