The battery gives the first two discharges twice the capacity? Isn't that a little bit weird. Normaly it would be a lower capacity until a few charge-discharge cycles. Could it be I wasn't paying attention the day they were explaining battery characteristics?

Was I so poor I couldn't pay attention?

I see your point. I'm just going on what a couple of the people said, maybe it is a firmware issue.......

I'm sure they can improve it in the firmware but it's strange that with the same firmware it has a higher capacity in the first two cycles. I mean what's causing this? What I would like to know if the battery is really drained when the iLiad switches off.

I guess a couple of questions have to be answered from the people who said they received longer battery life on the first 2 tries:

1. Was the firmware the same version throughout the 3 tests?
2. What is the battery life with firmware 2.6.1?

Could a runaway process eating up all the cpu time cause battery life degradation from 7 to 4 hrs? If the firmware was buggy...i could see it. I seen runaway processes on Linksys wrt54gl routers with dd-wrt linux installed take up all mem and cpu time available.

Also be aware, that CF, MCC cards & USB use lot of battery - so if you did test with cards installed before and removed (or just other brands with other power characteristics) them afterwards, this could affect battery life?
