Oh, now I understand your problem. Unfortunately, I don't have any solutions...
Which browser are you using? I've mostly been using Safari but you might try installing firefox just for another data point. |

Agreed. My guess is that the website hasn't been checked for compatibility with all browsers. Usually if Safari doesn't do it, Firefox will (in the rare cases it is actually that bad) or vice versa.
And of course, there are the rare cases where they wrote it for IE, it is broken everywhere else and the site owners don't care. |

I use Safari. I will have to try again and see if I can figure out what's up... Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've used Safari with Overdrive without any issues so it *should* work. Oh, what version of OS X are you using?

I have OS X Snow Leopard. I just went to the Library Site and checked out an e-book. It worked perfectly today, so I'm not sure what I was doing wrong the other day... I clicked download and it popped into my download folder, I double clicked it and it opened and downloaded into ADE without a glitch! So, all appears to be working well, just need to transfer it to my nook and I'm all set! Thanks again for your help and advice!

I have a Mac, and I have been able to access my local library's Overdrive service, check out both an ePub and a PDF, download the .acsm file, open it in Digital Editions, and transfer it to my nook without problems. This was with Safari on OS X 10.6.2.
As for reading the checked out books on the nook - I'm not a huge fan of how the PDF reflow works. The text seems either too small with huge margins - the actual PDF page - or too big. I can't seem to find a happy medium. The ePub, however, works great. |

Paul58, glad to hear it worked. Perhaps Overdrive was having a problem when you first tried.
