3 different books. Same problem.

At some point near the end of the book my Cybook reverts back to the library and freezes.

On performing a reset and re-opening the book it does not open where I left off.
I can't remember the extension of the file that keeps track of your reading history for each book, but it doesn't look as though it's updating.

I think the 'corrupted file' suggestion might be valid, but not any of my book files. It's more likely to be one of the V1.5 firmware files.

I'll re-load and see if that solves the problem.
All these symptoms sound like a corrupt filesystem, rather than a corrupt file. Make sure that you never, ever, disconnect the USB cable without using the "Safely Remove Hardware" tool.

I had this happen

just as my first battery was wearing out. Yep, I wore it out!

I installed the new battery and it hasn't happened since. My husband is a physicist, he charged the battery and put both a variable and constant drain on ti to test it. He said the battery was giving weird dips in voltage when it was used at higher current, consistent with the draws from flipping pages quickly. He's still using that battery in one of his little bug robot type thingys that he made for the kids, so it's not dead . . . just not up to running the Gen3.
