Or even easier just do start - run and type in cmd. That is the command line parser and then you can use zip directly. http://info-zip.org/ is the site that documents zip. I use this for command line work and 7zip for windows work. 7zip can open an epub and even let you change things inside.

I'm using Windows 7. I select all the elements for the package and right click ensuring I click on the mimetype file and choose "send to" then in the drop down menu select"compressed (zipped) folder" The result will be a zip file titled "mimetype.zip" it will validate every time. If the resulting zip package is titled with the name of any of the other elements of the package it will not validate. |

It it can stop all of a sudden with an update, or it is combined with a setting you have done (could even be in a totally different place...).
I believe some time ago there was also a tool posted here to create an epub from a bunch of xhtml files. ePubpack or something like that. |

OK I get it. Meanwhile, I'll just zip the packages up with one click.

Err, no -- because it is guaranteed to work properly. Then again, why not just use an EPUB editor, like Sigil or calibre's editor.
Possibly, because this thread is really really old. |
