Is the Jetbook Lite sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond like the regular Jetbook?

1 out of 5 star rating for Jetbook Lite
I'f I were a writing a review for the Jetbook Lite on amazon should I give it 1 star?
In reference to the topic I posted early last week and the related topic about Kindle users giving the book "Game Change" 1 star becaue the title is not available for kindle, should I follow suit? Im not going to do that of course but there are some points to both side of the agrument. One point is that giving the 1 star may put pressure on publishers as related to the for mentioned book. But In my case I would give a review on a product based on the fact that I have issue with the shipping from begining to end. Is this a fair assement of the Jetbook Lite? Does it give a proper review and project an accurate rating of the product? The answer is no but would it put pressure on the company to implement better shipping policies. I guess it would if they received alot of negative 1 star reviews about the shipping. So I say give books a 1 star review. It just might have positive results for ebooks. Im bored... Waiting for the FedEX truck today.. My house has never been cleaner and I have never exercised such enthusiasm. I need a shower but I don't dare for fear of receiving a failed delivery attempt on my door. |

Did it get there yet? I'm practically holding my breath, after reading this saga! I don't know if FedEx is delivering today... we're in the middle of a huge snowstorm, and the only things we're seeing are plow trucks anyway.

"holding my breath" thats funny. Who knew this topic had drama.
No it's not here. According to the FedEx holiday schedule today is recognized but not observed. My phone call to 1800FedEx resulted with my faith that it will be here today. So we will see. Delivery today will be day 6 since I ordered it. |

I can sympathize. I have no (or very little) patience. I'd be sitting there thinking, "I could have driven there and picked it up myself days ago, and I'd have it by now!") Then again, I'm still waiting on a p-book I pre-ordered in November or so, that came out in December, and I still haven't received my autographed copy from the author! If I'd ordered from Amazon, I'd have had it by now...

I heavily rely on reviews when I am looking for a product and I am a firm believer in reviewing the product itself and not something unrelated to the product. A negative review (and multiple ones) will lower the overall review rating of an otherwise problem free product. Someone gave the PRS-300 a 1/5 and stated that it didn't have wireless, sd card slot and a few other things - NO KIDDING!!! it doesn't claim to, rate a product based on the product and what it is advertised to be - imho.... Your mileage may vary ![]() As far as Amazon and their shipping. I have purchased MANY items from Amazon and overall I am very pleased with their shipping (when it comes from them). Many times they are just a brokerage agent for a third party and the shipping is out of their hands and in the hands of the third party. I have had some "issues" with these products as you have. But i don't consider a 1-2 day delay a deal breaker ![]() And I do not believe that Amazon will be overhauling their shipping policy because a product or 2 gets 1/5 stars due to a shipping snafu. The lower rating will hurt the product more, imo - than help to get a better shipping dept. Wed. afternoon to Monday afternoon should be considered a 5 day period. If you got it on Thursday you would not say it took 2 days. So 5 days, 2 of which are weekend days, and 1 of which is "recognized but not observed". So in effect, 3 day shipping (2 if you take 1 day to fullfill the order) Still not "too bad" imo. Don't get me wrong, I feel your pain, especially when you were hoping to get it early and have the weekend to play with it. I don't recall reading it, but what type of shipping did you choose? Expedited, or free? If it was expedited then I would call them and ask for a refund. I have done that in the past when I paid for next or 2-day and had a snafu, and they were very accomodating. It Arrived!!!!!
I was just about to post to this topic that I was getting concerned that it might not get here today. I was typing along and had "I'm about to pull my hair ou......" When the FedEx truck pulled up. We have a corner turret where my desk faces with a nice view out to the front of my house. I sprang up to give the driver every indication is was home. I opened the door and he was already on his way. As I exited the doorway my eyes met a horrific site. There in his hand was my package. This very hand was attached to an arm. An arm that was cocked back like a Hammer on a flint lock itching to strike the frizzen. Before I could fire a single word to stop the assult, my electronic reading devise was in the air some 20 to 25 feet (6 to 7 meters) away. BANG I've been hit. The package landed on our front porch and came to a skidding hault before my feet. I looked at the driver the way a shooting victim looks at the shooter and mouths WHY. "I thought it was a book" "It doesn't have fragile on it" He shrugged his shoulders got in his truck and drove away. I picked up my mistreated package and went inside. Reluctantly, I open the box at the authority of the 1800fedex representative I had on the phone to report the drive by shooting. I even got the truck number in all the confusion #99732. It looks as though the damage was mostly emotional and the Jetbook Lite is up and running. The first book will be "The Hobbit" which I installed on the SD card and opened on the reader. The DRM Unlock on the Barns & Noble PDB worked and only needed to be done once.
The explority surgery after the shooting revealed the Firmware version installed is v0.15 patch15. Last edited by P.X. Fort; 01-19-2010 at 12:12 AM. |

Kind of related, but seems my Pocket Pro also shipped out via FedEx. I'm kind of concerned about not getting the reader and it being shipped back or stolen by the driver. Last time I had a item shipped via FedEx, it got delayed by over a week because the driver kept lying about how he "attempted delivery" even though I was practically standing in front of my house each of those days waiting on it with no FedEx truck in sight. That is pretty scary Fort. Sounds like a totally ass. Do you have similar experiences with UPS? If not, maybe next time if given the option, choose UPS over FedEx. Exactly. The UPS Driver here has been the same for at least 7 years. I know that if I have a UPS delivery it will be here at 9:30am usually. So I now know I do not like FedEx.
