It is safe to use the internal memory, on device that handle it correctly, and as far as I know, device using Netronix firmware may have problem more sooner than later.. And I'm pretty sure that Bookeen work on this. Maybe not perfect, but better than nothing at all on badblock managment. (and I don't know about PocketBook firmware)

Sure, prefer using removable card if you can due to the possibility to change it and due to the integrated circuits handling wear levelling and block managements.

That said, I think that the internal mem should handle at least ~20000 raw block erase write cycles as the cheapest ones do..
