At least they had a booth. Did you read about the cheap-ass efforts by some companies that tried to cut costs by exhibiting in their hotel rooms - and got evicted for it?

Lots of companies setup such hospitality rooms and have nothing what so every to do with a booth at the convention. As along as the hotel is told ahead of time and nothing unsavory happens I find this sort of comment as a pure FUD rumor, please provide actually links, facts and details other wise your comment is pure gossip...still it would sure be funny if it really did happen, though I doubt it as LV hotels are fine with such things during a convention as long as it does not disturb other guests.

I have seen several reports and they all agree that this happened, see for example CES Kicks Out Vendors Who Try to Display, Carry Out Business in Hotel Suites. Engadget also covered this.

Thanks for providing the link - that's where I read it.

FWIW there was much discussion of Slashdot about it too. Two specific hotels were named as well.

I am not in the habit of generating FUD, and so, Mr. brecklundin, please do not accuse me of spreading "pure gossip". I did not provide a link initially as I supposed anyone interested in CES would have heard of the incidents by now.

WTF? Please show me where I said you were spreading FUD? Get your knickers out of the twist they are in and get over yourself. All I wrote was without a link it was FUD until your offered more details...I suppose that was too much to expect? And thanks to someone else we have the into...and it is funny, as I said it would be....
