But, if they become available some time in February, I have a friend who's going to the US who might get one for me.

Does anyone know the ebook formats it reads?
I couldn't get a straight answer on that.

I just came across this YouTube video about the Copia Ocean6 in which they talk about the price range ($199-299) and formats (epub, Adobe DRM...) and where you can get ebooks for the device (their website and other stores).

I think they are actually showing (a demo running on) the Ocean9, although the price range is presumably for their 6" Readers.

Possibly. I have trouble visualizing/distinguishing 6" and 9" readers because I've only seen photos so far, but watching the video I thought that it looked bigger then I expected. I definitely like it.

And I'm hoping (probably in vain) that the price range is actually for 6" ($199) AND 9" (%299) readers! I'll be on the lookout for more details.

The only thing I haven't been able to find out is whether the devices will be available to international buyers. Has anyone received an invite for their closed beta or managed to find out anything about their worldwide availability?

I would like to get a larger device due to many .pdfs I have, and these fit within my price limit.

I just built a wiki entry for this product set DMC Copia for your reference and linked back to this discussion thread. There may be a few answers in the wiki for some of you.

I'm still very curious what formats will be available on it...

I just got an answer from Copia. They will support open ePUB and PDF. Note the specifications on the web site are wrong and being corrected as we speak. The press release is correct. All the tidal models are 6" devices. The wiki has been updated.
