Peculiar just got its twelfth review on Amazon, and it is five-stars! Also I got an unsolicited plug in the forums. Great thing to see when I first woke up this morning!

Okay, WHILE I was posting about my twelfth review, I got a 13th review, also five-stars! It should be up on the link below. Awesome day!

I got this from Amazon, and found out that Calibre will convert it with no "middle ground" program! I just did a regular "Add Books", and sorted my Kindle for PC files by date, then picked the most recent file. Worked like a charm, I'm thrilled to say!

CarolineNH, lilac_jive, thanks for the purchases! Hope you like the book. I actually exceeded my sales goal this month. I wanted to sell 260 and I ended up selling 320! So I'm very happy right now.

Good luck with the contest!
Cats might seem 'cute and cuddly' BUT... they have their own agenda..

I must remember to buy this book.

hehe Anakin is a one of a kind cat. Big, dumb, one-eyed and he stomps around the house like a dinosaur! He's not ours, but he stays with us for holidays.

Lene, the cat that owns me is petite, cuddly and cute, aggressive, selfish and dominant. A typical cat!

Robert, I had to stop reading Peculiar, MO at night. Nightmares! It's a great story, but I'll finish reading it during daytime

cbell, I've had other readers tell me the same thing! One reader also said they couldn't get Strange Times because of insect on the cover creeped them out!

My cat is called Roswell, after the town in New Mexico. He is a big medium-hair gray-striped cat with one fang. I based the title cat in my short story "Graymalkin" on him, too. He is something else.

Well, I've had a few new developments since my last post. Peculiar, MO now has 17 reviews on Amazon! A couple of four-stars, a five-star, and sadly, a two-star. I guess I had to get one eventually. Can't please everyone. I think the majority would still recommend it.

Be glad I for one am really reticent in buying books with only positive customer reviews. Any (good) book cannot please everyone, and purely positive reviews don't give me confidence in the readers. At least someone giving a negative/low-star review cares enough to let everyone know. In the long run it's probably better to get the readers that are likely to enjoy your book than just anyone.

Thanks Seli. I have to agree. When I shop for a book, it sometimes helps if I scan the negative reviews as well as the positive, so I can evaluate the reasons people didn't like it and compare them with the ones who did. I think it gives me a better idea of how good the book is.

BTW, I got another five-star review since I posted that message, so that lifted my spirits right back up.

Okay, Peculiar just got its 21st review on Amazon, its seventh 5-star review , just this morning, and then shortly afterwards I received this posting in the Amazon forum:

"Peculiar, MO, the best $1.29 I've spent. It's possible I'm the last one around here to read this book. :-) So many good things said about it that I finally got and read it. I really enjoyed the story. If you haven't read it give it a try."

So I'm having a very good day.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted here. Just wanted to share that so far Peculiar, MO has sold over 1200 copies and has 22 reviews, averaging out to 4 stars. Big thank-you's to everyone who picked up a copy.

Okay, now I have to share. Today on Amazon Peculiar, MO got a five-star review, a four-star review, and was included, along with my short story collection Strange Times, in author Jim Chambers's list of his favorite books he has read on the Kindle. Great day!

P.S. I know this is mostly a forum for non-Kindlers. I only included the Amazon links so you could read the reviews, if you want. Here are the Smashwords links for Peculiar, MO and Strange Times.

It has been awhile since I posted in this thread, but Peculiar, MO just got its first Smashwords review and it is 5-stars! It's still only $1.29. I hope you guys will check it out!

"Review by: cbell on Jun. 06, 2010 :
Brr, this is scary. I don't usually read horror and I didn't want to read this book at night as it was so real - like I was there with the cats - but I couldn't stop reading it.

I've purchased everything I can find by this author and he's never disappointed me. Another great book!"
