Thanks all!

I had a great day saturday. Didn't have to do a thing (one advantage of visiting your mother on your birthday ) I got some wooden shoes, bath oils, earrings and a baking tin. Now I need to get to a grocery store and get me some eggs and I can make some apple cake!

And the wooden shoes came in handy when we came home last night/this morning (it was 2:30...) because of the snow here (we had none in Hungary)

a friend of mine told me that he had wooden shoes when he lived in an old (unheated) farm house in italy and he never had cold feet the whole winter ; he said there is nothing like wooden shoes for insulation from the cold. i wouldn't even know where to buy them here (if they can be found...) though so i've never tried.

True... No cold feet in those. And when it's really freezing, stuff it with hay or straw for even more insulation.

In summer, you won't get warm feet either.

i think he just wore socks. if i ever go far enough north, i'll definitely buy some wooden shoes to keep my feet warm in winter. my neighbors will hate me, of course...
