I am having trouble getting calibre to generate epub suitable for the new firmware. Which flags do people use to convert a mobi file? --font-justify seems to give only justification and no possibility to get it without justification. Also the margins is varying a lot. How do I force the default margins to be used?

Just wanted to point out...
2.0 is not more advanced than 1.5. Each support either Mobi or ePub. The only difference seems to be that 2.0 supports FB2 (which I've never seen before). And it probably has better PDF support. Other than that they appear to have all the same features. Reason I pointed it out is everybody seems to be heading for 2.0 thinking it's the one that offers the new shiny stuff. The good : Holding down the page forward button... and watching how fast it goes. The bad : Non-merged SD and main memory (I know it wouldn't be easy) The ugly : It took so long. |

The only way to do that is the accelerometer... Too bad, even my opus have it off, so switching to landscape is "activate accelerometer" " turn opus" "deactivate accelerometer" But pdf have the rotate option, and that's about the only thing i read landscape. Faster ePub loading. The opus hands less when opening a book, and changing chapter. Page numbers no longer overlap on the text yeah. PDF margin croping, i've been wanting that one for a while. |

I consider non-merged SD and main memory a good thing - I like knowing where the stuff is.
The rest of the problems seems to be something they can resolve in a firmware update ![]() If you email them directly and inform them about it. Since this firmware took care of (hopefully most of) the random stability problems and various models interchangeability, the next update (if they plan one) might not take so long, if all they need to do is small bugfixes. |

Margin settings are defined in the book with ePub. You can't blame the device for it.

Well, I am not sure. I looked in the file (Three Men on a Boat) and it seemed to have a top margin setting that was OK (but it was specified as 0.5em). I also downloaded a Leinster short story that also had this problem. All your books worked OK but you did not use page-template.xpgt file which might have something to do with this.

Previously I used Lucida Sans but that font does work so good anymore. The letters are to thick and it looks strange. Liberation Serif worked much better. But why did my old font stop working properly?

It's possible that Adobe and Mobipocket use a different font rendering engine (or they changed the code for both versions). Different antialiasing and hinting settings can make the same font look quite different.

Initial startup seems a little slower to me. There seems to be a slightly longer delay on the second screen (one with the three dots after the logo) before going to the library screen.
Strangely enough page turns seem to be faster than I remember. Anyone else feel the same? |

The Page turning is much faster for me with epub. I am finding it slow sometimes if I use the Go to and specify the page number.
Harry T: looks like no Book marks for 2.0 < I am having trouble getting calibre to generate epub suitable for the new firmware. Which flags do people use to convert a mobi file?> Trompe: I am having trouble with some books converting as well. I am using Calibre 6.21 at the moment. How about you? Quote:

When I convert Mobi books to ePub with Calibre (and that's how I create all my ePub books) I simply use default conversion options, with the exception of the right margin, which I set to 13pt, to allow a little room for the ADE page number.
