I can't. When I try to transfer a lrx the reader program just keeps saying "processing" without ever transferring the file. I can transfer lrf's with no problem. I've renamed a few lrx to lrf and transferred using Calibre but when I go to view them it says they are protected, even though my reader is authorized and I can view protected epub from the Sony store. So, yes, I have been locked out of my purchased books.

Hmm, this sounds about like the problem that Don was having with his new 600.

Which reader is it and did you purchase it after purchasing the books and or upgrading to the 3.1 Sony Library?

Can you drag and drop the files on the reader without using the Sony Library?

It is a 505 that I've had for a while now. It worked fine until the latest Sony store and software update. I haven't tried drag and drop because I can get the lrx on there with Calibre, I just can't open them.

That is weird. First I've heard of this sort of thing happening. If you purchased the LRX books from Sony while the 505 was authrized they should work with it -- at least that's what I saw and thought others were reporting.

I just tried moving with Calibre an existing LRX file - "Manifold Time" by Stephen Baxter to my 505 ... let's see what happens...

Hmmm works fine (it did have to format etc as it opened) but transferred, opened and displays just fine.

Also just tried with another one "Perdido Street Station" which I downloaded from Sony but is still not available as an epub. I just used windows drag and drop and it too is working fine.

After reading another thread today I think my problem might be related to the "enhanced" firmware flash.

Could be. I don't use that. Mine is factory standard.
