Speaking purely for myself, I don't really feel the need for a sync feature.
However, the idea of a two window view (one showing Calibre's library and the other what's on my Reader) does get me excited. ![]() |

An icon for books already on the device would be great...
Another nice feature would be to keep a "sync queue" - when you don't have a device attached, and you click "send to device", the program could put the book in a sync queue to be synchronized as soon as the device is connected... That would be a lifesaver ![]() |

I like that also, but with one slight change - an indicator if the book in the library is different than the one on the reader.

An indicator marking the books on the connected reader would serve the same function... actually it would be even better so you can take a quick look to see what book you forgot to transfer by looking for the missing marker vice having to sort both list and, since the list will be different length, figure out what is missing

Calibre is an interesting beast. At it's core it is completely device independent - which is great. Your library manager will be there for you when you change devices or upgrade. It has device specific plug-ins, which are also great because your books can be converted to that device.
When you ask the developers for new features, it may help to break them out by core function or Plug-in. I suspect anything Synch related will be implemented in the Plug-in for that device. Might need core changes for the UI though. Robert |
