wow, that's quite an amazing story. i wonder how many other 6 degree connections we could make here ? i think geneology is quite fascinating as well, and i'm also trying to learn about my family. my grandparents' generation scattered all around the world because of the war, so i have cousins all over europe and north america (most of them are in canada, including some i only learned about (and met) last year), and one of my grandmother's cousins moved to argentina. but she never had children so i don't think i have any cousins left there. that generation wasn't too prolific, but my great-grandfather had 3 children from 3 different wives. my grandmother was his last child, there was an 18-year age difference between her and her oldest brother. he had 2 sons who both live in canada now and they each had children as well (i've not met them though). my grandmother's older sister had only one daughter, she lives in canada as well and has two sons. her husband comes from a family of 18 children, if i remember correctly ! but since they are only related to me by marriage i won't try to keep track of all of them. counting all the children and grandchildren and wives and husbands they can easily have a family reunion with over 100 people !

Originally most of my information came from the free www.EllisIsland.org database which can be Searched in One Step for Surnames, Towns, etc.

While this Gold Form is separate from the EllisIsand.org website, it's quite powerful and for me was very rewarding as it opened up a world previously unknown to me; my ancestors' travels abroad.

I would like to learn more about my ancestors so I can figure out why my brothers are so weird!

Actually, it's good to know some family history to help anticipate health issues that might come along. I have a microcephalic brother and sister which is a genetic disorder. Knowing whether there is a history of an inherited disease or birth defect could make a huge difference.

. . .but I still would like to know why my brothers are so weird!! Don't tell them I said that, they can be really vindictive.
