One tip: I just flashed my 300 (from the Russian site linked/discussed here many times) and I have my clock back! I really missed it from my 505 days!!! The flash also has a neat mod where you can use the 5/6 buttons for history forward/back, and the 7/8 buttons for page turns.
Ditto. I also got a MightyBrite Ultraflex2 and couldn't be happier. Also, with ePubs converted to lrf through Calibre, the formatting is great!

What happened to your screen?

I have a 505 and a 300. The 300 goes in my pocket or briefcase, & holds whatever novel(s) I'm reading. It is well suited to that function, being almost as convenient as my iPhone, and easier to read.

The 505 stays at home, except when I travel, and holds whatever isn't a novel. I use Instapaper/Calibre to get stuff off of web pages to download to the 505. So it acts as kind of a newspaper or magazine reader.

But some issues arose between the new Library software & the 505. I had to hard reset the 505 to get Library to acknowledge it, whereupon the 505 started freezing & giving me a kind of fractured looking screen with reverse b/w. Plus the battery was utterly drained. And nothing on my computer would recognize it, claiming a fsk -43 error, whatever that is.

I wound up just sticking the 505 for a couple of hours, then doing another hard reset, & finally, things came back to normal.

I posted a picture in the sony 505 troubleshooting section. It fell off my computer desk and onto an area rug and now it has all these lines on the right side of the screen. I tried talking to the Sony warranty department, but they weren't helpful at all. I was close to getting a 300 but then yesterday I won a 505 on ebay.

Hi, just came to this thread after a search for "fsk error".
Where's the troubleshooting section?
in advance!

I'd love to be able to do this for the history forward/back. But just went to the link and it gave me the heebie jeebies!! Not for scaredy cats like me.

I finally flashed mine a while back (I was holding out hoping for a firmware that did something more substantial than just add a clock plus things I'll never use) but I finally broke down and did it. Worked smoothly and flawlessly.
