I cannot say this is 100% accurate, but I think it may be...

If you have a fresh install of Reader Library that is not authorized to handle LRX but your Reader is authorized and you have the eBooks, you should be able to load them onto the Reader to read them as the reader is authorized for those LRX eBooks. It's just that Reader Library is not authorized.

If your Reader is authorized, but not Reader Library, just put the LRX on your Reader and read away.

Certainly it's possible if you didn't UPGRADE it may have lrx viewing disabled how silly is that though?

Why don't you shoot an email off to Sony Support and ask.

Reader Library 3.1 does work to view DRMed LRX files as long as it's an upgrade from an earlier eBook Library that was authorized.

After going through this thread I had to check for myself. I can read LRX books on 3.1 - but I also upgraded from a previous version with existing LRX books.
