like the new software.

I could see how many books I downloaded, faster interface (downloading and transferring), and the software browser has the speed improved upon.

After listing all books by an author, I tried sorting the books by date. Results were inconsistent, not actually sorted by publication date. Their problem or mine?

After the 3.1 upgrade I bought one book from the Readerstore in the new Epub format - no problem. I had to re-enter my address and payment information one more time though.
Looking for "Pirate Latitudes" without finding it on the Sony place I went ahead and bought the book from Books on Board. Even thought it said I needed Adobe Digital Edition (which I installed) it never seemed to use it. As soon as I downloaded the purchased book it popped up in my Sony eBook Library and I could copy it to my Reader. I noticed the font was for me somewhat small in "Small" so I enlarged it to "Medium" and it looked great on the PRS-600, filling the screen almost to all edges.

Btw, being a non-native English speaker the dictionary is a gift from heaven. I wish that Sony in the future could make dictionaries available for other languages as well (Like English-Norwegian) but the Oxford English is of superb help. While Norwegian has about 40.000 words, English has maybe around 200.000 thousand words.

I downloaded and installed the new 3.1 upgrade. At first I didn't think it worked (whoops user error) I was looking for ebook library and it was renamed to reader library! Went to look at my purchases, and wow, 291

! Well, alot of these were freebies. Only 63 unavailable (some purchases

)

Well, since I was wrapping some presents decided to start the download. I checked the box to download all books on the page (20). When it was done I went to the next page, checked marked, and downloaded. I continued this for awhile. Decided to take a "wrapping break" and look in My Documents.

Should have checked sooner. I had 4 or 5 copies of some books. Apparently you need to uncheck the box "download all books on this page" before going to the next page. Now, instead of 291 (-63) books I have 562 in my Reader Library! Well, guess I can move some of them as backups!

I had placed a book in my shopping cart a couple of weeks ago, meaning to purchase it for a trip. I finally got around to buying it last Thursday, after the store switched to ePub. Sony was glad to charge me for the book, but I've never been able to download it.

Four different chat sessions yielded a variation of the same message - try again after <insert time until tech support person gets off work so they don't have to deal with it again>. Literally, I was told to "try later this morning, try in 2 hours, try in 9 hours, try in 24 hours". I waited the indicated time period each time, and needless to say the book is still unavailable.

The fifth chat session accidentally veered into the correct answer - "we don't know anything about the Reader Store". First I was given the "try tomorrow" answer, and then they finally admitted that they really had no idea, and that they didn't actually provide support for the store, and to call the support number at 877-263-2863.

Don't do that without some time on your hands.

Since, at this point, it's the principle of the thing and not the $9.99 that the book cost, I gave them a call. I was on hold for 54 minutes before the call was transferred to a person. I can now quote the entire 90 second loop of advertisements for Sony products. Somehow it didn't leave me wanting to buy more.

The polite person at tech support explained that "thousands" of the books didn't convert properly to ePub, and that they were working on converting them. No time estimate, not even a rough one. No, they wouldn't be refunding me the book purchase price, even though I had never downloaded it - after all, someday I'll be able to.

So - if you're waiting for some books that you've paid for but are currently unavailable, take heart! The store is undergoing "upgradation" and just check back in 2 hours. or later this morning. how about 9 hours. would you believe 24 hours?

If you have any eBooks in your wish list, delete them. Then do a search for the books you want and if they show up, then put them back in your wish list. The problem is that the eBooks that are not there are still in the wish list and when you go to buy them, since they are not there, you can't download them. I think the wish list is something Sony did not actually think about in the store change.

Smacks of "marketing says we switch to ePub on this date, so we use what we've got and fix the rest later" syndrome.

It seems like others are able to access the site with their readers after the upgrade? Something definitely smells fishy in Denmark.

I have the same problem with my PRS 300 and unable to auth reader to computer error 2027. So, what did you have to do? Please share your knowledge. I appreciate any help.

Have they fixed the sync issues in this release? Or do we still get files copied over files copied over files?

What I mean is - if you sync three times do you still get 3 copies of the same book? =)

Glad you were able to get it elsewhere, It was on Sony until the..upgrade shall we call it, now it's gone...errrrr

Yes, that's the book (Priate Latitudes) that I got caught by. Unfortunately, it was in my shopping cart, and I purchased it after the conversion. Sony finally admitted to me yesterday that they are having issues with some publishers getting some books in ePub format, and it will be at least another week until it's available from them.

You can get it in EPUB at Books on Board..I downloaded it last night. Although if Sony isn't refunding your money, you might want to wait.
