The Pocketbook 360 sounds like a really good reader. Based on pics it looks a little bulky and not very thin.

Which file formats work best on the Astak? Which ones work best on the Sony?
The Astaks seem to like FB2 best, followed by RTF and mobi. They do epub okay if you don't have an issue with the font sizes. The Sony 300 is probably best considered an epub reader.
Of the two, I'd go for the Astak because of the side mounted paging buttons and the jog dial; I'm not a fan of bottom-mounted paging. YMMV, of course.

Both are decent enough readers by current standards.

On the issue of bulk, though, the Pocketbook 360 is the size of a CD case and 10 mm thick, the same as the 300, you know.

Waterstones have a bit of a deal on the PRS300 at the moment.
PRS-300 for £149, plus a £10 book voucher until the 16th of December.

Guess what? On another thread I found out that some Car Toys stores have the Astak Pocket Pro. I was able to look at one today, hold it and fiddle around with it a little. Overall I like it. The text was easy to read and it was nice and lightweight. They don't have it available in maroon which is the color I want. The pages seemed to turn a little faster than on the Sony prs300. But they don't have it in maroon which is the color I want.
If I get the Pocket Pro I will probably buy ebooks in pdf and epub formats. The one little thing I don't like is that it doesn't show page info when reading an ebook (page you're on, how many pages total, etc). So I'll think about it for a couple days before I buy.

The latest firmware upgrade for the Pocket Pro now gives epub and pdf nine zoom levels.

Weezie, when reading in pdf or epub the page number you have read up to and out of how many is displayed by simply pressing the ok button. This is then shown in the taskbar along with the battery status.

Good luck deciding which reader to get.

Thanks for the info Javed. I like the 9 zoom levels and about the page numbers. Makes me even more excited about the Pocket Pro. I'm checking out the Sony prs300 one more time at Borders tomorrow just to make sure I like the PP better. I'll let you all know which one I decide on.
