It really is exciting, KK. I didn't preorder a nook, mainly because we ended up with the netbooks, but I'm still anxious to see the feedback when people actually get the nook in hand and have time to get used to its quirks. But, as Daffy said, competition is GOOD. I'm also excited about BN's bringing their ebook prices into line with Amazon (as stated in gizmodo's review), because I do buy a lot from them, even with Kindle 4 PC now available to me.

I'm slowly coming around to what seems to be a pretty common point of view: I'd like to see all the major players using ePub - so your library would be swappable according to what device you like best. (A girl can dream, right?)

Well it seems like the LCD screen has some great features including coverflow, but at what cost. If the e-ink display on the nook is slower than Kindle (refresh/page turns) it's a step backwards.

The nook has innovative features though, I can't wait to see how Sony/Amazon respond and what happens to ebook prices.
