Therein lies the problem. Velcro? Not the best solution. I'm still giving the idea some thought.

I think the question was, how to use the existing small journal as a PP cover. In which case, it would take some creativity

Oberon can certainly craft a cover to work with the PP perfectly, but they won't make one unless they know they'll sell. It sounds like the Sony covers aren't exactly flying off the shelves

I'd buy one, but that's it, just the one.

Velcro is a possibility, two strips on the back of the EZ Reader might be strong enough.

That might not be the reason. I've had a sony reader since shortly after they went on sale about three years ago, and I read Mobleread often, but this is the first I've ever heard of Oberon. (I haven't opened my PRS505 in months. )

Thank you, Jim for a great find. I certainly hope they decide to make a model of this cover for the Pocket Pro/BeBook Mini.

Omigawd, those are beautiful covers! I would definitely buy one. The only problem is deciding which design.

badgoodDeb converted an Oberon journal to a Kindle cover.

Based on the email conversation I had with one of the folks at Oberon, they'd need 40-50 people express interest in a case before they'd invest the time/money to design one.

So I'm putting out a feeler to see if there's enough interest to pursue this idea. Granted, the Oberon Design cases are not cheap. But, having held a journal in my hands, I can tell you the craftsmanship and attention to detail are really really nice.

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks for reading

If they get the plastic clips from jinke like the cover the pocket pro ships with I would I had checked to see what they had before. But not with the loop attatchment system the larger reader covers use.

Can the pocket pro's case be cannibalised to work with an oberon case?

I definitely would like one, those are very nice. I want something different for my cover, rather than the plain leather one it came with (although very happy it came with one that is very sturdy. )

I'll buy one if they'll make one the PP fits in otherwise if someone posts a way to cannibalise the current PP case in order to make a PP fit in an existing oberon case, as long as it's not too hard, I'm game.

Just been thinking and looking at their sony cases. If they were to produce one for the sony pocket edition, that would be roughly the same size as the PP. So perhaps they would be able to kill two birds with one stone. Just a thought, I'm still keen though.

Dear All:

IF Oberon has a booth at CES or I can somehow make an appointment with an Oberon Rep walking the show... I will have answers for you around January 14.

I will be working a booth but also will be looking for case makers that I can talk to about making custom cases that exactly fit.

The Oberon covers look very nice. I also liked the look of the Stylzworld covers. Stylzworld seems to use a clip system something like we already have. I don't understand the "bungee" elastic material on the Oberon. Why put something that will wear out so fast on a cover that should last for years? Is the "thong" that wraps around the button leather or bungee? Does anyone know?
I usually read with the cover folded back, in my hand, or lying on a table in a restaurant while I eat. (I travel alone frequently.) I wonder how the pewter button would affect stabilty when pressing the buttons with the reader lying on a table?
The tooling on the Oberon covers makes them worth the price IMHO. I would like to to have one, sans "bungee".
