Yeah I am wondering when they will be shipping it.

I pre-ordered it as well. I have not gotten any messages from them. If I don't get an email explaining why it isn't shipping today I am going to be a tad annoyed. I think I will not be the only person annoyed as well!

It was implied that they would be shipping pre-orders on Nov 30th. *taps foot impatiently*

It was more than implied, it was stated, and odds are your order status still has the estimated ship date.

Again though, these things are very likely shipping from China or California. It isn't even 1pm yet on the west coast, and I rarely get stuff marked as 'shipped' before 5pm local (local to the shipping center, not the buyer), especially for high-demand items. They get one UPS/FedEx pickup a day, and a lot of these big guys get the pickup done fairly late in the evening (5-9pm).

If it ships from China, I've seen stuff ship even later at night. While I can understand the nail-biting, we may be jumping the gun a little bit on wondering why they aren't shipping.

Now, if tomorrow comes and everyone's still waiting, yeah... there was definitely a delay.

I ordered my Nook the first day as well. Just got an email from them. There is apparently a delay but they say I will have it by Dec 9th, they have upgraded me to free overnite shipping ( I think before it was expedited 3 day for free) & a coupon for $10 for bn.com

i just saw that on the B&N website.
Looks like shipping is delayed until the 12/7 and they are upgrading the orders to overnight for receipt on 12/9 and giving the $10 as an "We're sorry."

Hey, you'll be able to get a free book or two though. That's cool.

They also mentioned starting mid december that gift certificates will work for ebooks as well.

I hope I'm wrong, since I'm very anxious to get my hands on one as well (even though it's a later shipment), but...You guys may want to be prepared to be disappointed.

What I've heard comes from someone I know casually at Quinn Emanuel (firm representing B&N.com). This person isn't working on the B&N case, but just picked up pieces from office chatter.

Apparently Quinn Emanuel has advised B&N not to ship units until the presiding judge issues an order denying Spring Design's motion for a preliminary injunction. The order could come later today (as mentioned, it's not quite 1 p.m. yet) or later in the week.

As someone elsewhere has pointed out that B&N has rescheduled shipment of accessories to Friday, Dec. 4th, I guess it's possible that B&N may have just moved things back until then.

EDIT:

Ok...apparently it's official now.

I love the "upgrade" to same day shipping which will get it to me a week after my "expidited shipping" would have!

Unless by some unforeseen miracle Spring Design manages to obtain their preliminary injunction.

It's highly unlikely, but stranger things happen all the time in court.

But I'd say B&N's plan to ship on Dec. 4th is a safe bet. They should have an order denying the injunction by the end of the week at least.
