Actually what a couple of us, at least, want, is to also choose the default font face in ePub. It defaults to Times Roman in a light grey. Not the clearest for reading, and can't be changed.

In mobi you can change font face, but you have to do it for every book you open (although it does remember for that book)

There is a global setting for fonts in the main settings menu of the device, but it seems to be ignored by both the ePub and the mobi reader software. The intention of a global default font for reading is good, but they have not implemented it properly - i.e. it doesn't work for mobi and ePub (and possible other formats)

As I understand...

Users want:
Font SIZES in the mobi/prc to be as many choices as epubs has (i.e., 5)

Font STYLES in mobi/prc and epubs to CHOOSE from the font styles in the settings and/or user loaded fonts, and have that STYLE stay on unless changed by the user.

As it is now, epubs cannot change the style from the Pocket Pro, it necessitates changing the ebook FILE as programmed by the editor. And now, for mobi, you can choose one of three choices set by the system, (or can you have user loaded files available?) but it does not stay when you reload the file.

Also, for epubs, uses want the status bar WITH the progress meter AND the clock.

[how'd I do with the clarification?]

Did you do the November 5 firmware upgrade?

On November 5 we issued a firmware upgrade to change the font graduations to elimianate the "too small... too large" problem.

Is it still wrong? Most people seemed very pleasedthat I heard from.

Pretty good. I want to add, and STRESS, that the global font face setting should be applied to ALL formats as a default. If they have individual custom font settings, OK use that, but if not (the majority case) always use the global font setting. I think text files do this, but they are the only format I have used that does. ePub and mobi should as well.

Failing that, there should be another global setting added for each specific format, e.g. I set a global setting for ALL mobi format books, and another for all ePubs.

I think the EPUB font changes are relative to what yo start with.

I have been fooling around with Calibre, and that is when I noticed that, "3" was not always my best choice.

As to Page(screen page) number at the bottom.
I suggest a Percentage of the location in the file rather than page Number, which gets really messed up if you change zoom levels. The percentage of the file is always correct for the First Character on the screen.

Robert, the font sizes are "better" than before, but with font sizes more choices are needed for some ebooks.... especially with mobi. 3 font sizes is just not enough.

And for EPUB to become my preferred format, I need to be able to change the font style (ie to IBOOKN or one of my loaded fonts) AND have a status bar (I don't want to have to push a button to see the statusbar).

Thanks for keeping on top of user needs/preferences.

I like the percentage idea very much also. This could be as an option.

Optionality in most of the changes to be implemented is probably the best way to go, as then more choices are available to cater for the many.
