To be fair it is the one gadget I own that actually has a good battery cycle - I mean my laptops only get about 3-5 hours, portable dvd player 4 hours, ipod touch lasts a day before I need to charge so seems a bit odd to moan (me) that the ereader lasts 1-2 weeks!!! |

Well, I'll revise a little, I'd still say it's worse than my 500, but not as bad as I feared. It got down to the last square and lasted a while, I decided I was going to drain the battery before charging and it took longer than I expected. I finally got it down to the "low battery warning" prompt and figured it'd go out on me in a few pages, and it still lasted over 100 pages.

here's what I don't get- I thought the only battery use involved was when we turned pages on the Reader, and that page display did not take battery. (Music, dictionary, hi-lights, etc., all take battery too of course)
So why should not completely powering down the Reader overnight drain battery? If the machine is in sleep mode instead of off, but no one is there turning pages, why does it drain battery? Does it? |

PRS 505 lasts average of 78 days.
My PRS 505 battery lasts me an average of 78 days. However, I keep it in Shut Down mode most of the time and read books on my PC. I only keep it in sleep mode when I actually am using it.
I just purchased a PRS 900 and still do not have records on their battery. I will use it the same way as the PRS 505. However, the PRS 900 has a removable battery and one could buy a spare and fully charge it. Then one could last much longer. Finally, the PRS 900 has a much quicker way of going into Shut Down mode than the PRS 505. |
