Happy birthday, Simon!
FWIW, I highly recommend Working Stiffs. A great collection of exciting short fiction that's a real bargain at 50% off. Debbi Mack [In-text promotional links deleted - MODERATOR] Last edited by Dr. Drib; 03-10-2014 at 12:34 PM. |

I really didn't realize that Dorchester was an indie publisher. I saw the madison avenue address and assumed they were big corporate.
But, I love your site, I love your blurbs, and your cover designs are pretty much spot on. That's just about everything I look for when I'm book shopping (especially in the indie scene) You've moved to the top of my to buy pile. Next round of cash, I'm going to grab your stuff. How do you compare to Lee Childs? The more I read about DorPub the more I like it. Must keep them in mind for my own submissions. |

Thanks Jaxx,
Having met Lee Child, I'm about 12 inches shorter and I have dark hair. Writing wise, Childs' Jack Reacher is a confident hero. My characters are vulnerable people in situations of their own devising and aren't naturally equipped to deal with it--at first. |

Hi,
For what it's worth, I think Simon's writing is great. His characters are people dealing with situations in which they're over their head. Great action, intelligently written. I've never read Lee Child (though I hear good stuff about the guy now and then ![]() Best, Debbi [In-text promotional links deleted - MODERATOR] Last edited by Dr. Drib; 03-10-2014 at 12:31 PM. |

Thanks for the kind words, Debbi.
On another subject. Amazon has discounted another of my eBooks. Last week, they dropped the price of The Scrubs to 99cents. This time, they’ve cut the price of Working Stiffs to $1.59. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VWKG2C Descritpion: The workplace is a dangerous place. I'm guessing that there's some fancy calculation is picking titles. I don't think Amazon is listening to writers. :-)

Working Stiffs picked up a really nice review over at the Drowning Pool. I got compared to Donald Westlake.
