Hard to follow that logic.
CoolReader is open source and much more likely to evolve in support of user inputs as opposed to ADE which is more likely to evolve in response to those who are paying the license fees. OR, are you suggesting that CoolReader is not standards compliant? I was under the impression that Sigil has been following the standard quite closely, and I have not seen any complaints from people using CoolReader for Sigil generated EPUB books.

Another major plus for CoolReader.
But, that is why I suggested an option to pick the default EPUB reader.

Why would someone not know which reader they were using if they had to actually select which reader to use?

After installing the 20091105 Astak build, exit any book you're reading, so that you're at "the bookshelf" (the listing of files and directories). Then press the MENU/OK button, then select SETTINGS. You should see TIME & DATE setting on #5.

Clock in epub

A clock in epub - yeaahhhhh!!! No wait, then I would have to decide between a clock and the ability to delete and copy files on the PP as provided by the Ukrainian firmware dated 30 Oct. 09 - pity there is no way to combine different firmware updates...

Even using the internal memory, you have plenty of space for books. For myself, I see no point where I would have a 'necessity' to make room for anything by deleting them. After all, the only reason I can see to delete something is to add something to take its place. And you can only do that via the computer.

Maybe what would be good is to add a Flag/Move feature to the PEZ. Once a book is flagged, it's moved into a folder called Flagged or Trash or something. Then, once you connect to the PC, simply go to the folder and remove all the ones you've placed into that folder. You can then add more to take their place.

"No-Delete Books", "Never"

Move books off of "Recently Read" to "Completed (for now)"

I would like to see a "New, Just added" list (sym-link support?) to be able to find all those new books I just added after a (Baen, Webscription binge .
Calibre files titles under "Author". Finding New or series (or co-authored) can be daunting and my 4G SD card is only at 25%

Gee, I guess I'd better stop reading forums and get back to work, implementing the stuff that those pesky license payers want! No one expects us to care about user inputs - what a relief!

Dear Diokdin:

I work for Astak:

Many on MobileRead have mentioned how confusing our website is on upgrades. I am trying to get Marketing and the Factory to be a whole lot more specific. So do not feel bad about your confusion on which update.

I want to try to get us clearer on what is in the updates.

Also a good idea, would make navigation easier but that's the reason for my wish to delete files as well, not to make more room on the device but to shorten the displayed lists and make navigation quicker. Sorting books into folders helps with organizing but then you have to make sure folder names contain no spaces, etc. for the bookmark function to work...call me crazy, I just like deleting files directly on the PP and find it especially handy when I have read a sleuth of short stories...

PS: I kept babbling about Romanian firmware, I guess the site is actually in Ukrainian...

Dear all:

I work for Astak.

The clock is progressing fine at the factory. They are adding the time and the date down by the battery charge icon.

A firmware upgrade will be forthcoming for that. I suggest waiting just a bit longer.

With the consistent rate of firmware updates I bet the iRex owners are getting pretty jealous

Glad to see not only are bugs being fixed but enhancements added to each firmware update. I'm looking forward to the added TTS and toggle switch functionality.

The only way I can see the TTS being any good is if Astak were to license something like AT&T natural voices. I don't see that happening, mainly due to the cost involved. I can't imagine AT&T would be willing to just give it away.

Though I suppose it would be very good advertising!
