As I see it, nnf, no matter when you decide to buy, there will be a better deal in six months.

The situation is much better now than when I started looking in August. If you can wait till after the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, you will have a much better idea of what will become available in the next few months.

That's very true! I'm going to wait for Boxing Day and see if Future Shop discounts their 505s. Otherwise, I might just wait until January and see what's coming out in 2010.

I wanted a reader really badly, but frankly I realized I don't mind waiting a few more months. Thanks for your comment

My in-laws gave me a new 505 for my birthday. It was purchased from a Sam's club in the Dallas-Fort Worth area sometime in the last couple of months.
