Anybody lose their ereader and get it back? - Page 2

I found a wallet with ID, credit cards, and some cash on the floor in a movie theater. Was it slightly tempting to keep it for a second... maybe but all I could think of was how upset I would be If I lost my wallet like that. As I was walking it to the managers office a very worried looking guy passed me saying "it has to be here I used it to buy my tickets." I told them I found something and he asked if I found his wallet; and I was able to give it to him myself. Felt really good too. Like I said I know I would have been going nuts myself. Good Luck and please let us know Monday when you get your briefcase back.

Got home... realized it was AWOL... called the building. Someone had turned in 'something'... come and get it.

I had to pull up my name in the reader device ID before they really believed me, but it didn't take long.

Over nine years of loyal service that reader gave me, before I was seduced this summer by the pretty face on my Sony PRS-505.

Thanks so much for the kind thoughts and touching stories. I can hardly wait until Monday! I usually catch an earlier train on Monday, but I better catch the same train, in case the briefcase is still on the upper deck.

I hope it turns out well for you. I lost my Sony Reader on a Southwest Airlines flight and it never made it to the lost and found, even though I had a reward and my phone number posted on the Main Menu. Some people just don't care. Good luck!

I'm really sorry. I have a business card taped to the cover, but offering a reward is a good suggestion. Although, as a Kindle 1, it may be time for a new device (even though I love my Kindle 1).

I could hardly wait until this morning. All the stations are open. It wasn't in Chicago, and when I called the other end of the line, they said it wasn't there. (Purple paisley briefcases are rare, I hope) I am going to take the same train home tonight, and I hope it is still there. I am usually the first one on the car anyway, but tonight I will be extra early!!

I am anxious, because I finally made it to the top of the waiting list for the new Sookie Stakehouse book!

My daughter says I will get it back, because if anyone opens the cover and sees the books on it, they will be disgusted. Don't you love teenagers!

good luck!! Let us know if you find it. The only thing I have ever really lost was a pager...back in the day with pagers were popular. I was 18 and thought I was pretty cool to have a pager lol (not that I was that popular but everyone else had one so I wanted one too!). I lost it in the movie theater where I worked. I never found it, and ended up getting a new one. I would be going nuts if I lost my ebook reader or ipod. GOOD LUCK!!

Nothing today, darn. But my assistant told me not only did he lose his checkbook, he also lost his wallet on the train. He got both back in about 3 days. The waiting is killing me!

I think I will charge my daughter's kindle, just so I can read! Haven't read anything since Friday morning - I'm going into withdrawal!

I once found a sailor’s wallet on the base where I work. After unsuccessfully trying to find out which ship he was stationed on (I called all the ships in port at the time as well as base security), I called the 800 number on the back of one of his credit cards. They were more helpful, and after explaining the situation and giving them my name and number, they were able to contact their customer and give him that information. He soon called me, and got his wallet back. Don’t lose hope, there are still a few honest people out there, but stay vigilant, and stay on top of your bank information!

What great stories! I am hopeful no one will look at the bank info - there is a kindle on top, followed by a coffee cup, and I don't remember what else. I just want to read!!!

I've lost my wallet twice in my life, both times had it returned intact.

But I had this roommate once who was all the time walking off and leaving her purses behind, and every single time someone would steal her wallet out of them.

Can't be karma, because she was a FAR better person than I am.

So yes, there are both good and bad people out there, as we all know. Hope you get yours back - I'd bawl my eyes out if something happened to my Sony.

Actually, it is a first generation kindle, and my daughter bought one and never uses it, so I don't care too much. I might buy a pretty Sony or a Nook next time around.
