Weird.

Don't suppose you can get access to another computer to try uploading a few files, etc. At least you could determine if it's the Kindle or the PC that way.

Tested the transfer into anoher compuer (laptop for that matter) and ddint had any problems with the PRC files.

I am inclined now to think its a driver's issue with Vista (first thing the laptop did was intall a driver when i plugged kindle into it). I am at work now so i will have to try to replace/update it on my comp later somehow and see what i get.....

"Use Calibre instead"

If i could install it......some sort of database error......

I uploaded it and am looking at the book on my Kindle now. I am in Linux on my laptop.

I think we can eliminate the idea that using Calibre will "fix" this file, since it works for many of us already. Your driver idea sounds promising.

Yay!! Found the solution!!!

Re installed the drivers and things got better but i still couldnt upload all PRC files (just some)

What really did the trick was to plug the Kindle on a back USB port (was using the front ones on my comp). They never gave me trouble with my pendrives but for some reason Kindle hated them.

Working as a charm right now!

Such a simple solution for such a headache......

Thanks for the posts guys.

It's possible that the USB ports on the front of your comp are actually a USB hub running off the hardware for the rear ports instead of extra actual ports. Some manufacturers have done that in the past, don't know if anyone still does.
