No, just short stories...

Not only do I not remember names of books, I don't remember names of authors when I've read half a dozen of their books. When I'm wanting to recommenced an author, I often have to go into Amazon and plug in the title of a book (when I remember it) to get the author's name. I find that this effect is worse for ebooks than deadtree ones.

If I can remember only a vague description of the book, I have to resort to a YASID on r.a.sf.w.

It would be nice if e-book readers would show the cover for a couple of seconds before going to your place in the book. Or rather it should be an option.

Not only do I not remember the names of books, I often don't remember the names of their authors or characters inside them (inside the books, not the authors ). Actually I have problems with names generally...well, any proper noun really...hell often just nouns. Actually just yesterday I realised that I might be starting to have problems with...well, I couldn't think of the word at the term, but it turns out it was "adverbs".

They're in there...it's all in there. I just can't get to them readily. That's why I love teh interwebs, my computers and my mobile phone - reference, both personal and external. I've a reasonable memory for what we can broadly call "facts" (though I mean fictional or non-fictional "facts" - events, data, connections), no matter how trivial (and there's a lot of that in there), but the words describing them are not filed alphabetically, or at least not according to any alphabet I know. Or maybe it's because I file it all under "D" for "Don't forget" (and yet I definitely put the Escape/Pina Colada Song under "F", but do you think I can forget that Rupert Holmes abomination?).

Cheers,
Marc

That's why it's so hard to find it I did find some books I had forgotten by just entering some key phrases, but this one keeps eluding me... I'm not even sure if it's a children's book or not, as I read "adult" books even as a child.

Goodreads has a fairly active "name that book" group as well. I'm impressed at what they have managed to figure out.

There's was this book I read once by this guy and it was awesome. There was all this stuff in it, and what not ...
Errr ... What was the question again?

Kidding aside, I thank you people for assuring me I am not going prematurely losing my marbles. I regularly forget titles of books and names of authors. It makes it really difficult to recommend a book to someone . Thanks goodness for Wikipedia!

Considering we have a thread dedicated to help people figure out the title of a book they read in the past that they can't remember the title of, the answer for most of us is surely yes.
