This is one reason I would not buy the cover, if you are like me and do not like to bend the cover back but rather hold the reader like an open book then the strap would be annoying.

@TGNY I know exactly how you feel. I have the Sony cover for my 300 and I've tried to bend it back a few times but I always feel like the front cover would break off soon if I bend it too much. For that reason, I just try to take out of its cover when I read in bed and hold the 300 bare. The downside though is that I have nowhere to clip my Travelflex on to. I don't feel comfortable clipping it onto the 300 directly as I feel it would scratch the Reader plus the Travelflex's clip isn't wide enough to clip comfortably on the Reader anyway.

@kpfeifle & kazbates Can you bend back the M-edge cover comfortably and not feel like you're going to break it anytime soon? I'm really interested in the Executive Jacket.

I have the fuschia Executive Jacket for both my 700 and 600. You can bend back the left side of the cover to tuck it underneath without feeling as if it will break. The cover is made of stiff leather and is very securely sewn. The two sides of the cover are hard with a soft spine connecting the two sides. It takes a bit of manipulation to bend the spine just the way you want the first few times because the leather is so stiff. I haven't noticed any wear after doing so, although I don't bend it back very often; I'm one of those people who don't even have any creases in the spines of my paperback books. I do bend the strap back with my right hand when I'm reading (I also hold the cover open like a book when reading) to tuck it out of the way. All-in-all, I think it's an excellent product.

On a side note: I gave my 700 to my daughter when I purchased my 600. Knowing her love of all things red, I bought her the red 700 cover. The leather is smooth and shiny as compared to the pebbled leather of the fuschia cover and scratches very easily. Although the red cover is very pretty, I wouldn't order it again.

Thanks, Kazbates I'm looking at the Mocha Executive Jacket and it's made of smooth leather. No other color except the red seems to appeal to me very much, and the red for the 300 would probably be made of the same material as your daughter's red 700 cover, so I guess I'd have to rethink again if I would want something that scratches quite easily.

I do too! In my younger days as a programmer, I envisioned an electronic book with 2 screens like a regular paper book. Now, after using my digital readers, I realize that that would be a bit redundant for my uses but I still like holding the cover open as if I'm reading a paper book. I rarely fold it behind the reader.

It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, I guess.
