well, i guess it went well ! everything seems to be back now. nicely done, alex ! i can now go out and have a drink with a friend with a light heart, knowing everything is good in mobileread land.

So, when I logged onto MR and the computer grabbed my throat and trheatened me with extreme physical violence if I didn't pour my coffee directly into the box, that was probably just a hallucination?

I've been wondering for a while, and this seems as good a time and as good a place as any to ask:

Who pays the bills for this great place?

I've picked up on the fact that it was originally started by Alex, and a host of folks help moderate, all volunteer labor, but...

Servers and ISPs cost money. Do the banner ads on the site cover all the bills? Is it a money maker? Break-even? Loss?

Just curious. It's a great site, and the ads are pretty innocuous, compared to a lot of sites...

Alexander, perhaps you could set up an alternate site so that when you have to do things like this we could all go there?

Costs for the servers are pretty much covered. I never did the number crunch, but it works out OK.
