Just a quick note, because it would be unfair to leave people wondering.

My decision to leave the forums had nothing at all to do with Patricia, she was just unlucky enough to be in her wrong place at my wrong time.

There will be no more stories, that part of my life is over and done with. Whatever you read is all there is. I destroyed everything, all backup copies, all works in progress, the whole thing. I won't be writing any more fiction, not even the NaNoWriMo event which I'd planned on.

I've given up tilting at windmills. Passion, integrity, joy and any of the other more noble sentiments surrounding the writing of fiction don't mean much in the world. And I'm too tired now to convince myself otherwise.

Thankyou all for reading, for your continued support of independent writers and for your concerns. I'll still continue to cruise by here from time to time to catch up on Sigil and Calibre and the goings on in the Lounge, but my involvement will be minimum at best. I just don't have the time anymore.

Yours
Moejoe

A great shame in my humble opinion but we must respect his decision. I'd imagine it was harder for him than us.

I wonder, Moejoe, if you realize something.

Thanks for letting us know that you're okay and you'll still be around (in a reduced capacity). I respect your decision and wish you the best in all your future endeavours.

Keep listening to Joni and Rickie!

Moejoe, if ever there was a born writer, it is you.

I actually have tears in my eyes when I read that you had destroyed your work. You may need a sabbatical - particularly if other things are going on in your life - but don't rule out writing forever.

What a beautiful thing to say, desertgrandma.

Moejoe, thank you for coming back to post and let us know what is going on.

I have to just say that I for one am one of those whom you have touched with your writing. I am very sad that you will not be writing and sharing the wonders of your gift to create a story from an idea, a word, a slip of found paper, or a suggestion.

I felt the same, Patricia, but...

I never say never, and I believe there is always hope.. so, I will be looking for that next story.

moejoe, thank you for stopping in to reply. it's good to hear from you, although the news is not particularly joyous. i'll try to respect your decision, as moe has said, but...

...i couldn't have said that better than patricia did, but that's exactly how i feel.

at least, don't lock the door and throw away the key. i will treasure all the stories i've stockpiled all the more now and hope that one day you'll choose to share them (and hopefully others as well...) with the world again. take some time now, take all the time you need, but some doors shouldn't ever be locked. i've got an endless supply of hairpins, in case you ever might feel the need for one.

Moejoe, I've read and enjoyed every one of your stories at Feedbooks. I'm very sad to see that you (and PJ Lyon) are no longer there.

Thankfully, I have a backup of all your ebooks - if you come to regret burning them, contact me.

I've seen you encouraging other authors here and I've admired your incredible book covers, created so generously for people you don't know.

I hope that you will find great happiness in whatever you choose to do

Thank you for the wonderful reads, the inspiration and your unique sense of humour. I appreciated it all and look forward to your drive by visits.

But most of all I wish you happiness and contentment, Hats off to your Sir, may life bring you all the challenges you relish and all the 'moments' you deserve

Moejoe I am sad to hear your decision, you will be greatly missed here. Thank you for keeping us up to date I hope you continue to do so.

We can only guess at what prompted this, but remember life is like the weather - there are grey and stormy days, when you can only stay under cover. But then along come the bright sunny ones!

MoeJoe, I somehow missed your post...whatever is going on in your world, I'm sorry you feel you can't write anymore. All artists have feelings of futility at times.

This is so true....I'm thinking 'The butterfly effect': The butterfly in the jungle causing a tsunami halfway around the globe. You never know when your small 'wing flapping' will be the catalyst for something bigger than yourself.

I hope that your life's situation will change and you will begin 'flapping' again. Art, in all it's forms, is so important in the world.
You will be missed by so many.

whatever life be doing to you at this moment, remember we are here.

your generosity, and the illuminating visions created by you, with your work, will remain a source of joy.

life is really too short for such a long word as "never".

MoeJoe, There are so many things I would like to say about not giving up hope, etc., but since I don't know what trials and tribulations you are facing in your life, I feel unqualified to comment.

God speed in whatever new endeavors take you away from your writing and MR. Just know that we are here to lend an ear and to provide a virtual hug should you need one.
