well, if possible you should probably wait and get one next year after all the other ones have been released. The nook really has me somewhat regretting buying my 600 2 moths ago, but I like the touch screen navigation better that the dual screen, plus the only thing that really irks me with my 600 is that pdf's are too small on the 6" display for me.

One thing about the dual screen is that if its only going to be used for navigation, then that would be an absolute waste. What they should be using that lcd for is complementary material. Such as lets say you buy a cook book and are on a recipe, well the e-ink display would display the recipe while the lcd has video of the chief actually making and cooking the recipe. They could even blend audiobooks with e-books, and have the audio version palying on the LCD and you can follow along in the text, or take a break from reading and let the audiobook take over.
This is an exciting time for e-readers, I really cannot wait to see what kind of products well have to choose from in a year or two.

Yeah, it has all kinds of features that seem cool, but then you look at the thing and say "What am I going to do with that touch screen? That thing looks big and heavy. Is that all plastic? Why do I want wireless connections on my books?" I just got my PRS-600 yesterday, and I was having some doubts until I held it in my hand. It is just what I wanted. It may not be ideal for other people, of course.

I think I will stick with my PRS600. I can just see the LCD being used for some other "useful" content like banner ads, Google type ads, Free books, if you only watch 30 seconds worth of ads for every 50 pages! I can see it now!

Depends how you use your ebook, somebody who hops in and out of their books is going to see a bigger hit, but somebody who is reading for quite a while isn't going to have the lcd active most of the time and will hardly take a hit.

The design isn't going to suit everyone, but the more options there are for people the more likely it is that the ebook market will grow and that is good for all of us.

The LCD is for menus, right? I think it has buttons for page turning.

if i was buying right now, i'd probably choose the Nook over the 600 because: (1) better, bigger, more well-known bookstore to buy from, (2) "loaning" books feature/wireless (3) android OS (4) cheaper (5) more formats supported.

i don't care about the color screen, though i suppose it might have uses. also, a few days of battery life is enough. i don't really need a device to last over a week without a charge, because it's really no hassle at all to plug it in over night.

Yes, there are touch sensitive buttons on each edge. But I am pretty sure in one video I saw the guy said while reading the book there are several ways to use the touch screen to turn the page, swipe, etc.
