Is that with an SD card inserted? If the Opus doesn't crash without the SD card (or crash as much) then I'd seriously consider getting it and not using a SD card till new fw arrives. At least it will still have twice the storage of the Sony 300 and future use of SD cards.

Given all the freezes, I don't think the Opus is really ready for prime time.

Any device that gets reports of lots of freezes would not be ready for prime time (IMHO). And good luck waiting for an update. As was said before, take the drvice as it is when you buy it. Any updates are just an unexpected bonus.

And once again, what's your problem with bookeen ? What have they done to you to deserve that ? I don't go on amazon's or sony's board just to complain... Come back the day you have something more constructive to say than "bookeen is bad", or "sony is good". And while the freeze are an annoyance, the opus is still pretty much usable. Mine haven't crashed for a while. Crusader, having used both Gen3 and opus, opus have my preference. Plus it's a bit less expensive ![]() Last edited by EowynCarter; 10-16-2009 at 02:55 PM. |

Don't know how I missed this. The Pocketbook 360 does look nice. Now if only I could find a retailer that ships one to South Africa I might get one instead of the Opus.

They don't promise anything. Swap 'bragged' for 'promised' if you don't like the word. Same expectations created. |

An other few things, Pocketbook don't suppport DRM. (But I heard of an update comming, don't know, as I don't check the pocketbook forums..) And beware about geographic restriction. Make sure to find some shop that will sells e-books to you before getting a reader. Last edited by EowynCarter; 10-17-2009 at 04:25 AM. |

I really want a reader, have been wanting one for ages and I finally have the cash available.
The PRS 300 is looking more like an option. It's about $150 cheaper than the Opus to get it imported to here. |
