Ok everyone, once again. Waterstones is not really responsible in this case. A quick look at Amazon or Mobipocket.com will show you that the ebook is still $27 list price.

We aren't going to get anywhere if we blame people that are not responsible. A simple practicality.

You can perhaps blame Waterstones for not offering discounts or rewards, but they have little to no control over the relative pricing of the different editions.

Still £3.49 on Apple Apps Store. The cheapest option avaialble. It has video interviews and other extras. I bought the audio version from Audible for £23.99. An excellent book indeed.

Given that Harper Collins is advertising the digital edition as having an RRP of £8.21 on its own website (though this looks like a reference to the iPhone version), this is indeed a ridiculous state of affairs.

This sort of sloppiness is a result of pricing structures chained to SKUs and it needs to go. No doubt there are 'problems' all the way down the chain with the idea of an SKU whose price will vary, but those are just a symptom of laziness.

Stock keeping unit. For example, MS has 5 SKUs of Windows 7... each different edition gets it's own SKU.
