Do what I did. Send it back, and now that you've at least read a few types of books on it, and you know what style/format/font you like, spend the next couple weeks on "Calibre"ating your library.
I shot a email to support. See what they'll say.

It's not bad when some text blends in with it and it's unnoticeable, but when the words don't fall on it, that tiny dot is just annoying. :/

Well, I'll just find my place and finish what I started with World War Z. Luckily I'm a slow reader. Maybe I'll be toward the the last 3rd of the book by then.

Sorry to hear about your screen blemish (I'm with Griff, you can either be without it for a few weeks, or let it bother you for a few years...) but I just had to comment on World War Z. This is the first ebook I've ever read (on the first e-ink reader I've ever used), and am loving the format - great for quick short reads - which also has me using my PEZ much more than I thought I would. It also has me on constant lookout for the closest and tallest buildings to fortify myself in when the inevitable zombie apocalypse happens...

Yeah so far it's a really good read.

Funny thing. I had a friend look for for the dot to see if it would notice it. He didn't. This was while it was locked. So I turned the reader on and flipped to the page were I first noticed the dot. I had him read the page and he saw it as soon as he got to where it was. I told him to keep going and he too had the same nagging "what is that" feeling I had. He thought I was still being a little anal, and thought I could get use it. But he also agreed, it being only one week. Might as well try again.

I'm just glad I'm not crazy though.

Just because there's a nagging dot doesn't mean you're not crazy. We all know

That's the actual page number though. Again I don't think it's too big a issue, but when I ran across it while reading, it just kept pulling my eye back to it.

It's like on of those once it's been seen, it can't be unseen.

You need to set a right margin in the book such that the text doesn't overlap the page number - a 13pt margin is generally sufficient. If you download any of the ePub books that I've uploaded, you'll see, I think, that it looks a lot better that way.

So what are you doing to change the Margins?
This feature is really annoying at higher page numbers as it fades as many as 3 chars of a word.

The e-pub books came from Webscriptions (on no DRM).

If your book is DRM-free (as the Webscription books are), you can use "Calibre" to very easily change the margin sizes. Add your book to the Calibre library, select "Convert Book", set both the source and target formats to be "ePub", and on the "Page Setup" tab for the target book, set the desired margin sizes.
