I read in the tub every day with my 505 - no plastic bag or anything.

Well, thanks to you guys, I'm having some trepidation about it now.
However, I can honestly say that I have never dropped a book (electronic or otherwise) in the water, and I've been a tub-reader all my life. What the hell are you guys doing that makes you lose your grip, for Pete's sake? Wait - don't answer that. Please, please don't answer that. |

Maybe you just need to gain some weight? Oh, and I use my M-edge Leisure cover to read in the bath all the time. It grips well and protects from humidity. I've never actually dropped a book in the bath, so I don't really worry about that. |

Add me to the people who read e-books in the bath. Ziploc bag works fine: I use two if I'm feeling paranoid.
And yes, I have dropped a p-book in the bath. Once by knocking it off the edge of the tub as I clumsily got in, and once by dozing off in the nice warm water. Hence the ziploc bag(s) for safety's sake. I can also read in the rain with a ziploc bag. Try that with a paper book. |

I tried using a ziplog bag, but that just made the darn thing slippery and *more* likely to fall in, IMHO. I like my Leisure case - it's easy to hold and seals the reader off well-enough. I don't worry about dropping it in the water, I don't think it's very likely since I've never dropped a book. |

I really can't remember the last time I took a bath... that said I'd be hesitant to take my reader into the tub.
I skimmed the article, so maybe I'm not being fair, but it's pretty clear to me that this guy has it out for readers from the beginning. He starts out by talking about his beloved set of pBooks... and then goes on to tell you everything that is wrong, and could be wrong with eBooks. They got the wrong guy to write this article. Edit: Lest there be any confusion - I shower daily. I just don't take baths. |

Like Sparrow, I use an Aquapac bag in the bath.
I love baths, and due to an illness I do spend a lot of time in them (i.e. two hours in the bath today alone). I wouldn't trust myself without some kind of protection and the Aquapac means I can just keep reading my beloved 505. |

I've been reading ebooks while taking a bath since I've started to read electronically. Just don't fall asleep in the tub and you should be fine.

It's funny how often this comes up in reviews. It appears to me that people are just trying to think of things to not like about the electronic reader.
This is actually a big advantage of the electronic readers. I use the Aquapac in the pool when I'm on vacation. Pool floats, swim up bars, lounge chairs in the pools. hot tubs. It's easy to hold and change pages with one hand. If there are rain showers I just keep on reading while everyone else scrambles away. |

First, I just take showers, second, whenever I used a bath tub I never read in it, because I didn't want the paper getting wet. So why should I start reading while bathing now?
And, with an Aquapac I could even consider reading while taking a shower. Try THAT with a paper boook ... |

Either that, or they are unsure who to get to review these gizmos, and get either the literary correspondents or the just out of school tech journalists in training. Each one seems to be either from the college student perspective or the people who really love books. Not reading, but books as objects to be admired on a display, or waxed lyrically about. |
