2.5 years ago I was "let go" because I (in very simplistic terms) did my job well. I know a lot of "fired" folks might say that, but it's true, and I could get a stat.dec. from the CEO to prove it if I wanted (hell, he felt/I made him feel so bad about his politicking that I could even now get him to post a YouTube video of himself dancing the macarena in a tutu in the middle of the road on the Sydney Harbour Bridge if I insisted on it; if I said it was the only thing that'd repay the betrayal and injustice I felt).
I felt shit...total and absolute shit. I still do at times. It changed much about myself, and much about my general view of humanity. I think you're better than me though, Krisk, and I think any shittyness will be worn down by your confidence and abilities. If it doesn't, or if it gets you down at times, let me know, and we'll have a drink together and laugh and complain and cry while getting drunk enough to get up on stage and sing Take This Job & Shove It karaoke-style. ![]() I'm sorry. I hope you get justice. I know you'll find a way forward for yourself. Cheers, Marc |

Take many deep breaths, take your time formulating your plan of action =>>>> and only then come out with all barrels blazing ....
Advice from a union or some similar association may prove valuable as an 'outsider' looking in. Whatever, take care .... in less than a years time you may look back and think .... |

Krisk, Sorry to hear about the rectocranial inversion approach your bosses took with dealing with F & F.
But, on the bright side: 1) your next job will not have them there, 2) your old bosses are stuck with them, 3) you can now seek out the contractor job that will put you back in there, bossing them around, and 4) you get to sue the bastiches for everything but their underwear, which you probably don't want, anyway. |

thus far I have contacted the Inspector General's Office and will be seeing them tomorrow. they will take all of my information and transmit it to the "Office of the Special Counsel" (I would certainly shudder if I saw THAT return address on an envelope or email!). I will be seeing the Union as well tomorrow. this afternoon I have an appointment with an attorney. I have a feeling however that I will get further with the "official route" and of course, no out of pocket expenses.
here is the Reader's Digest version of my termination letter... ***you have been involved in multiple verbal altercations with your co-worker that caused serious disruption (s.i.c.) to the operation of this department... an incident occurred as a result of the door ... being propped open. (this was right after we almost lost the entire telephone switch and DID lose the internet for 6 hours... they [frick and frack] fried part of the special electrical equipment to keep everything cooled... and, yep! insisted on keeping the door open still!).... ....specifically... I had a meeting with you and your two co-workers about a project... I specifically stated that the three of you must work as a team to accomplish this task. (the task was to install some more "modern" phones in the commander's office. frick and frack went into a huddle about what they were going to do and did not include me. I had been given one of the phones to install at my own work desk so I could answer users questions, etc. I had my phone installed and working while they were still reading the instructions) ... I received an email from you later stating a feature wasn't working properly. When I asked you if your co-worker completed his portion of the task, you informed me that you completed his portion which was against the instructions I assigned. (yep! that's right folks! read it here!!! I made the damn stuff work because my co-worker was struggling with it and I did not want us to look like COMPLETE blithering idiots!)*** she then goes on to talk about the situation (I'll link it later) where she changed my entire job description in front of a bunch of customers, and firck and frack had lied about not completing an install. I had become INCREDIBLY angry and knew that I was about to blow. I told her I needed to go back to my offce for a telephonic appointment. she started to argue with me, and I asked to speak to her in the hall where I told her I was very upset and did not want to cause a scene and therefore needed to walk away from the situation. she commanded that I stay and get the equipment installed with frack and she and frick left. about a half hour later, frick showed back up and I walked out knowing that I would have blown up at him. I went straight to her and let her know what I had done without trying to hide or cover anything up.... soooo there we go |

The question that comes to my mind is, "What do Frick and Frack have on your boss?"

ok, here is the incident where the boss changed my job description mid-stream, and the twon of them flat out were not doing their jobs;
I am so seriously fed up with them today. fortunately I got over to ER this morning and initated the complaint. late yesterday afternoon I got a call from a customer saying that frick and frack had walked in their door, glanced around and said; "nope, can't do it, you gotta move the furniture." and walked out. I went to look yestserday, and all of the jacks are accessible from under the panels of the desks. you can't see the numbers, they aren't easy to get to, you need to get down on your back, but you can get to them. I reported this to my supervisor this morning and she had all of us go over there together. frick and frack were wandering around there " wawawawaw... move the furniture... wawawawa...". the supervisor basically changes my job description in the middle of the room... and ARGH! I'm just so angry and pissed and DONE with this!!! *** and here's the one where I felt he was completely out of control, unbalanced, and quite frankly scared the sh*t out of me; well frick of frick and frack fame may have finally loaded one to many straws onto the camel's back. he decided to light into me when I was on the phone with not one, but two technical support people from not one, but two seperate agencies. the phone was on speaker as I had been entering a lot of stuff into the computer while they were watching on a remote connection. he was in full throttle mode. started with the door between our rooms SLAMMING open! him hitting the door jam with both fists and him screaming at me. I totally kept my cool, and got these other techs to write up statements. I just got back from Equal Employment where I found that you cannot file against a co-worker, but only against your supervisor. I LIKE my supervisor, I do not want to get her into trouble. I also DO realize that she is at fault for not nipping this in the bud earlier. I will hold off on any of that sort of activity for as long as possible. I have a message into the correct person at HR. Last edited by krisk; 09-22-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

soooo... here's a question/statement... after the second of those two incidents I sent my boss an email begging for help and pointing out that (as much of a quote as I can remember); "as a victim of rape, when men become violent like that, I feel very intimidated and go into panic mode. I really need something to be done about this cycle of anger that I am subjected to."
and, as I was walking the pup just a little while ago, I was musing that in a way I actually feel like a rape victim in as much as I have been pleading for help and intervention, but the fault is all mine. I am attempting to get an appointment with a pshrynk to see, if maybe I can't get some "professional advice" sort of help, maybe some affirmation that I was indeed put into an intolerable situation. you guys have been great, but I don't think I can take the llounge into arbitration |
