Lightbulb 2.0 alpha 2b

I just released 2.0 alpha 2b. This release fixes issues in the HTML parsing that would cause the crashes during document generation. See the Change Log for more details and the top posting for the download link.

Talking Sunrise XP site

Sunrise XP now has its own site: http://www.sunrisexp.com/

There's not much actual content yet, though.

(Updated the download and change log link to the new site.)

I didn't try alpha 1, but so far so good with alpha 2. It is really a lot faster. I've got a PPC, so I won't be having any hotsync related issues. Will let you know if the pdb document works as expected in Vade Mecum.

Ok, quick testing says it works ok, but I notice that all of the text is in bold. Documents created with the old Sunrise did not do this.

Its going to be interesting to see, now that I have a fully wireless internet capable device, with unmetered flat rate pricing, when and how I'll be using sunrise. Since I can go online anywhere anytime, why not just do so? I think sunrise will still be very useful because of the URL rewriting and "made for small form-factor" documents that it produces. Pocket IE in Windows Mobile 5 is better than previous versions, but it still has trouble making some websites easy to read on a small device.

Which site is this? URL?

The few documents I tried with Vade Mecum all came out more or less right. However, BBC News, for instance, still doesn't work right.

Vade Mecum compatibility is not a goal for me. It's alpha quality software and doesn't seem to be maintained very much.

Still Crashing

Hi Laurens,

The conduit problem seems to be fixed, but I'm still getting a crash during the update process. This time, it wasn't during document generation, but rather when a document was 57 percent updated.

The error in the hotsync log was the same error in the one I listed earlier.

The site "Book of Joe". I just tried it again and it crashed at exactly the same location.

Thanks for letting me know. I had already fixed this for alpha 3, actually. (It's due to a rounding error that occurs when rescaling images with a 1-pixel width or height.)

To get around this for now, exclude the image http://images.redcatsusa.com/images/...le.millena.gif

I tried blocking that URL and updating that document again, this time it still crashed, but at an earlier point (18%).

I will be traveling for the next several days and will be away from the computer where I have Sunrise XP loaded, so it might be awhile before I can give you more input. Good luck and thanks for your great software!

The site does work fine here with my development build. Thanks for your feedback. Safe travels.
